I have just started dress shopping a year out from my wedding. I have had one appointment so far, and was trying to figure out the best time to go again to another store.
Are there pro’s and con’s of keeping the appointments within a short time frame or did/do you find it better to spread them out over a few months?
The only thing I can think of, is that I want to keep the dresses fresh in my mind because I wasn’t allowed to take photos. That and I also want to play princess again lol 🙂

I did three in one day, haha! I think the shopping process for me took about three-four weeks, and in total I made 5 trips. I wanted to A) have the dresses fresh in my mind, and B) just get it done!

@kaleidoscope: I allowed myself a week in between visits, to let the “shiny” wear off and to get a feel for which dress style I would be truly happy with in the long term. I was very afraid of dress regret! However, I was allowed to take photos in all but one store, so that changes things a bit. Good luck in your search!!!

My Maid/Matron of Honor did three in one day too! Unfortunately we found nothing for her at those three, but found it a few weeks later on a trip to another store (only one that day). If the people you’re planning on taking with are up for it, do it! It was actually a lot of fun, but we were all pretty tired by the end of the day.

So far I have been 5 times and with no luck so I have decided to take a few months off from shopping. I haven’t gone since beginning of Sept and my next appointment will be Nov. 14.

One in a day was exhausting enough, I would collapse if I did three lol! I am terrible at making decisions and I usually need to think things over for a while before I settle on something. Did anyone take time to think over their choice, or you knew then and there that you’d found the dress?

I went on a weekend trip witih my Mom to get my dress, and I went to about 10-12 stores over the weekend! Some visitis were very short (got a bad vibe from the store), but it was still exhausting! I didn’t have to worry about forgetting about dresses, because I’m a very picky person and all the dresses were a loud no (expect for the one I chose of course!), so I wanted to forget about most of them! Haha
