19 months- We just got engaged at the end of March 2019 and our wedding is Halloween 2020. We wanted that date specifically, so that how we decided! I always wanted a longish engagement, so it worked out well. We will have known each other 10 years and been together 8 by the fine we get married!

We booked our venue 3 weeks to the day after getting engaged and our photographer a few days ago. Dress shopping next weekend, so I’m not wasting any time despite the timeframe!

Ours will be just under five months, because we’re doing a courthouse wedding and an extremely small party afterwards.

6 month and 6 days. We had the wedding planed and wraped up 10 days after the engagment. We knew what we wanted and I already had my eye on a date, officant and wedding planer. Hawaiian weddingmoon.

We got engaged in March 2017 and married in Jan 2018, so our engagement was 10 months long. We were originally going to have a 13.5 month long engagement, but after getting engaged we moved the wedding up. Wouldn’t change it for the world 😊

I know whenever I get engaged the wedding will have to be nine months out. It’s not my say it’s the rules of the Church. It’s important for SO and I to get married in the church of our Faith.

If if it was up to me it would be the next day! Lol

I have been engaged longer more than anyone I know. But I noticed among people around me, the typical engagement length is about 14 to 18 months. bakerbee09 :

Ours was 10 months. We knew which venue we wanted so we just went with the date which was available with them whilst still giving us enough time to book the other suppliers, etc.

Our engagement will be 20 months long. Slightly longer than I would have preferred, but it happened that way because my FH proposed in September 2017. We knew we wanted a big wedding, plus knew that we had some other big adjustments coming up (moving in together, job changes for both of us), so I wanted a little over a year to plan (ideally 15-18 months) so we wouldn’t feel rushed. But that would have meant we’d be getting married during winter, and we live in Chicago and both hate the cold and didn’t want to deal with potential awful weather, so we both preferred to wait until spring. May 25th was a date that held significance for us, so we chose that as our date.

Our time between engagement and wedding will be 20 months.  We weren’t ready to do it the immediate fall after the engagement (engaged in November) as I need to sell my house and move, but didn’t want to wait until the next fall either.  So, we chose July and the 5 year anniversary of our first date.

We’ll be engaged about 11 months.  We sort of already had a season/year in mind for when we wanted to get married, so I told FH that whenever he was thinking of proposing, just to make sure it gave me time to plan. lol

bespectacled1 :  Yes, same! I always wanted a fall wedding, but we got engaged in the fall, and one year seemed like not enough time to plan, but I didn’t want to wait two full years. So, spring it is.

bakerbee09 :  I was engaged last April 27th, and we are getting married this September. So about 17 months. Felt far away in the beginning but I wasn’t really bothered by it so the first half kind of flew by, but now that we are getting closer it’s driving me crazy and I simply can not wait!!!!! So far time seems to be moving pretty steadily though lol.
