I’m very, very paranoid about giving myself and others food poisoning I drive myself nuts sometimes trying to figure out if I can eat this or if I left it out too long.
I cooked raw chicken yesterday for butter chicken (yum!) and left it out for an hour to cool down, is that okay? I’m new to cooking……..
How long can you leave chicken out for once you cook it?

i always leasve chicken out to cool, up to an hour usually. its ten times worse to put in the fridge hot than to leave it for an hour.

when its still hot and you put it directly into a cold environment, its a breeding ground for bacteria!! i learned this the hard way maybe 10 years ago “/ food poisoning for like two days!!

Mom always told me that you shouldn’t put hot stuff in the fridge. So, I always leave it out on the counter to cool down before it goes into the fridge.

I always let my food cool down before I put it in the fridge.

I usually leave it out for however long it needs to cool down. But it is recommend for no more then 2 hours out.
