I have four bridesmaids + me + mom. So in total 6 people to get ready!
My girls are going to “base curl” their hair, so it will be easier and faster for my hairdress to do simple up-do’s when it is their turn.
How long should i budget for hair and make-up??? We have to leave for the ceremony around 12:30 so i need to tell them what time to arrive.

Any thoughts bees? Could really use the time-line help!
How did your mornings go getting ready? Any hiccups?

Is there only one person doing hair and makeup?

There were four of us, one hair dresser, and it took about an hour each. I had a friend come in to do my makeup after our hair was done, and she did one Bridesmaid or Best Man makeup as well, but the other two did their own.
We started at 9, got dressed/started pictures around 1:30, ceremony at 3:30.
Our morning went fairly smooth, and I got my hair done last, so I could finish up last minute things at the church (we got ready at the church), such as setting out programs, setting up the unity sand, tying balloons onto the street signs, etc. We did get kind of lazy after lunch arrived and lost track of time a bit, so my BMs didn’t start getting dressed until the GMs arrived on time, shockingly enough.

@HappinessIsInDaisies: This is what my Hair/Makeup person quoted in her contract: “Allow about 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes per person.” I am having 10 people getting their hair and makeup done. With a designated makeup person, hair person, and an assistant that I believe does both, she said that they need 5 hours. Hope this helps!

To be honest, I would ask the person responsible! They probably have the best idea as to how long it will take to get you all ready for the big day 🙂

@vorpalette: one person doing hair and one person doing make-up

@HappinessIsInDaisies: i don’t know how long its ACTUALLY going to take, but with two women working on my party of 8, they told us to allot from 10 am to 3 pm.

For myself and 3 bridesmaids, they are predicting that it will take from 9AM – 1:30 PM for hair & make up, and there will be 3 people doing both.

@MizzStark1026: So for 10 people, they said around 5 hours? I think for 6 people, 3 or 4 hours should be fine then. I will ask my professionals too. I’m just trying to get a general time-line.

I also have 6 total including myself all doing hair and makeup and the salon told me if we all get there by 9:00 AM they will have us all done by 12:00 PM. They have 4 stylists on and predict 1.5 hours per person.

We had different people doing or hair. It took almost two hours for mine and an hour and a half for everyone else. So with for BMs I guess that’s eight hours total). Yikes… Hopefully your hair person can work faster!

@HappinessIsInDaisies: I had one makeup artist and one hairstylist. There were 4 of us that needed hair and makeup. It took 5 hours to get us all ready.
Here is a good tip: Don’t go last – go second to last. That way your makeup is still fresh but, in case they start running late, they won’t have to rush on you.

I think you should ask your MUA and hairdresser bc it really depends on THEM.
