no time at all!
I’d been practicing writing / doodling my name though forever. It sounds awesome. I do that anyway normally though. My work notebooks are horrible! Melissa Maiden Begins over and over, yeesh.

I’m not married yet but I’m pretty sure that it won’t take long since my last name is like going from “Bee” to “Beach”. I pretty much just have to add -ch to the end!

It’s been eight months and it’s still a challenge. This is probably harder since I kept my name professionally, and I sign my name a TON at work. Outside of work, I am MyFirst MyMaiden HisLAst, so as long as people don’t forget to say my middle, I remember, but so hard!

I had finally made the shift (never accidentally signing my maiden name etc.) about 6 months in. But my mom sent me a birthday check made out to the old name and I’ve been signing my maiden name for the last three weeks!

It is definitely strange! I’ve been at a new job going by my new name for 6 weeks, and I still do a double take looking for my name on the computer. I’m slowly beginning to recognize it sooner now. I just need to finish changing my name on my credit cards because now I can’t remember which way to sign my name with which card!

Thanks, everyone, for helping me not feel so alone. Based on everyone’s comments, I guess it will take me awhile to get used to my new name. That’s pretty much what I thought. By The Way, @Adira and @Moose1209, my new last name has a “v” in it, too!

It’s been 2 months and still not used to it. I keep glancing at my mail thinking “Who is this for?” and then realizing it’s mine.
I just got all my cards/ID’s changed over this week, so for the past 2 days I’ve been using them. Seeing a wallet full of cards with a different name on them makes me feel like I stole someone’s wallet!!
