No one knows until they know.

I got pregnant our first cycle trying, which ended in a CP. Got pregnant the following cycle, and my son is currently 7 months. We’ll see how that goes for the second, if there is a second.

My sister got pregnant after trying for 15 months. Same sister got pregnant first cycle trying for the second. Same sister got pregnant after 9 cycles for the third.

I became pregnant 1st cycle trying which ended in a chemical pregnancy.  I became pregnant again on the 4th cycle and am currently 37 weeks pregnant.  I agree with PP, there is no telling how long it may take.

I got pregnant on my 2nd cycle, which ended in miscarriage. Got pregnant again three cycles later and am now 28 weeks along. You really can’t know til you try. My mom had serious infertility issues, which I seem to not have inherited. Meanwhile I have a good friend who’s mom and all the other women in her family were fertile myrtles, and for reasons unknown it took my friend over five years to conceive. It is a total crapshoot.

I got pregnant on our second cycle trying and my baby is 6 months now . It took my mom almost a year to get pregnant with me and she was 4 years younger when she started trying, so you really never know.

10 cycles, then a chemical, then 2 cycles to have my first. I was charting that entire time

My 2nd was a one time oops. Crazy considering how hard it was the first time!

Fell pregnant after 8 cycles and miscarried at 8 weeks. Fell pregnant 3 cycles later with my son who is now 8 months. Am currently 14 weeks pregnant with a surprise baby we weren’t even trying for.

My mum had a positive pregnancy test two weeks after they stopped using protection and she was 35 (which led to me!).  My cousin got pregnant with both sons pretty quickly.

I have no medical issues, was 28 when we started ttc, and my husband’s sperm analysis was excellent.. took us 8 months till the first positive pregnancy test.. the pregnancy didn’t stick (I only was a week late or so when I miscarried).  In the end it took us a total of 13 months for us to get pregnant.

Good luck! For most women luck is all it comes down to.

Almost 3 years, including 3 IUI’s and 2 rounds of IVF.  Mom & sister had no fertility issues at all and got pregnant within a month or two every time.

I semi-joke that all my friends fell into one of 2 categories: 1) could sneeze and get pregnant (ie, pregnant asap once they “tried”)

2) 1+ years and $1 Million

None of my friends had babies in their 20’s though FWIW.

First month off BCP, now LO is coming up on 6 months.

My mom took a few months to get pregnant with me, but she was quite a bit older than I was at 35. My maternal grandma had 3 kids in 3 years starting at 25 and my paternal grandma had my dad at 16, so I don’t think either of them had too many issues. That said, I don’t think that says anything about me. I was prepared for it to take awhile and was (and still am) surprised that it didn’t. I had been taking BCP for ages, but before then my periods were all over the place.

We’ve been trying for 6 months, which while it is nothing compared to a lot of people, isn’t as short as a plenty of people experience. A few years back I accidentally got pregnant, though it didn’t stick, from one time ever unprotected sex. I’ve always had clockwork periods and often get ovulation pain. I really think there is just a lot of luck involved, I don’t know how much you can predict.

First kid, 16 months.

Second kid, 2 months.

I ovulated regularly, we did all the tests and had no issues, and no one in my family struggled. Honestly, the more i see the more i believe it really is just luck of the draw (barring actual medical issues) sometimes. Which is why it’s so asinine when people brag about getting pregnant quickly.

missviolet92 :  Nope. You don’t know until you start trying. Both of you could be “100% perfect,” and there could be chromosomal issues that prevents the embryo from growing. There are sooooooo many chances for it to fail, that there’s no way of knowing when it won’t.

I got a positive test about 2 weeks after stopping protection (which was just pulling out anyway). I was a bit shocked to say the least. Almost 11 weeks now.

We weren’t going to really try until November, but just stopped preventing because what’s a few months. We know so many people struggling to conceive so I was concerned we would be in the same boat
