I went off the pill about 2 months after we got married just b/c I didn’t want to be on it anymore. I was charting my temp to NOT get preg, and then sometime after we had been married about 7 months I was like “this wouldn’t be so bad”. It was right after I got a new job and we bought our house. I always said I wanted to wait a year after our wedding to get preg. I went to the doc in mid November to get blood work done and a sonogram (I have one ovary) and everything came back great. I got preg that next cycle almost exactly on our one year anniversary.

Something like 85% of couples get pregnant within 12 months with about half being pregnant by 4 or 5 months. So those are usually your odds though it (obviously) can be affected by medical issues or age.
I went off the pill a couple months before we got married (we were both 29) since I had been on it for 16 years and didn’t know what to expect. I got pregnant that first month. If we had gotten married earlier I would have waited, I didn’t want babies until 30.

We have been married 9 months and we dont plan on trying until later this year or early next year..we will see how it goes. I wanted to be married at least a year or so before we started trying

@foreverlovex: Waiting for the right amount of money to me was always an endless delay, there is never the right amount of money and really no one is ever 100% ready.
We started trying after being married 16 months. The first month we really didn’t try, didn’t try to prevent. Our 17th month of marriage we did actually start to try with charting, OPK’s etc. We got pregnant in two months are expecting our first child in August.

@foreverlovex: we were married on august 24, 2013.
i stopped taking birth control in october 2013.
i got pregnant sometime before thanksgiving in november 2013. and took the test on december 5, 2013. so it took one cycle for me to get pregnant. we planned it and we don’t have a ton of marital problems. we have typical squabbles but nothing earth shattering.
like EVERYTHING, it’s what you make it and it depends on the couple. my DH is awesome and we communicate well. we know how to have healthy fights and even healthier make up sessions.

we didn’t start trying until 3 years after our wedding. we’re probably the anomaly though. we were both in grad school and then we were living in separate states 500 miles away for a year after my husband got a job. it took us 2 months (one seriously trying) to get pregnant. i was honestly surprised that it happened that quickly after hearing friends experiences (6+ months trying).

We got married in June 2012, went off BC in March 2013, and started trying in April 2013. DH and I had also been together for nearly 9 years at that point. We got pregnant on our first cycle trying–we were very lucky!

We waited a year to settle in. It only took one try.

I wanted to own our house before trying. We got married, and closed on a house 2 weeks after our first anniversary. Our first month of ‘trying’ was the month we closed on the house, and we got pregnant right away! I’m glad we had a year just to enjoy being newlyweds. But renovating and moving while pregnant was not an easy task!

Were going to wait a year after we got married (July 6). Started trying a month and a half prior to our anniversary. Got our BFP July 31.

- Wedding: September 2008 - A tiny town just outside of Glacier National Park
We started TTC the month before our 5 year anniversary and conceived the first cycle. I had charted for avoidance and to get an ideal of my cycles for 3 months after going off the pill (been on for 13 years) and started TTC the fourth month off the pill.

We were looking to start really trying in January 2014. But we fooled around in December. I’m just about 9 weeks pregnant right now so yeah, didn’t take long at all. lol.
