@applebeee:  We got pregnant right after I stopped the pill. Finished my pack in early October had a period and got pregnant on October 25th ( I think). The plan was to start charting and stuff after my next period cuz I wasn’t sure how long it would take my cycles to regulate. Apparently not that long. Everyone is different. It took my friend a year to get pregnant after she finished her pills.

Damn, I wish more people would vote on this!  It’d also be interesting to see how long people were on the pill before deciding to conceive.

@peachacid:  I was on the pill and then the ring for 12 years. Got off of the ring in May.  We used other methods until August when we started trying and we got pregnant in October.

My girlfriend was on the same pill for 10 years and got pregnant the same month she stopped birth control.

Got pregnant immediately.  And I was on the pill for 11 years.

I’m on my phone so its hard to type this, but I voted four. after being on the pill for seven years, it took us four cycles. charting, trying, etc. the four cycles took about five months as my cycles are longer than average.

3 months, but only the last 2 had really good BD timing around ovulation.  I was on hormonal BC for about 9 years.

OH and we started having unprotected sex right away.  I know some people stop the pill and are still “careful” for a few months, then decide to start trying.  So I literally got pregnant on the third cycle off the pill, not just third cycle trying after stopping the pill a few months beforehand.

Second month off of BCP. First month we were basically NTNP, but second month I really paid attention to my CP/CM and O pains, as well as BDing at least EOD during my possible fertile window, taking mucinex for the entire possible fertile window (something like 11 or 12 days, bc I wasn’t charting temps lol) and I also stayed in bed (sometimes with my hips propped up) for at least 15-30 minutes after BDing each time. We managed to BD O-3, O-1, O, O+1, O+2 and it worked. I can tell my exact O date, bc I always get mild O pains the day before, strong the day of and mild again the day after. My breasts are also very sensitive to the progesterone spike right after Oing. Starting about the day after I O, my nipples get engorged and darker and really sensitive. The only difference was that it usually goes away in a few days. This time it didn’t. 🙂 (I also had a bunch of other symptoms starting at about 6 or 7DPO, too, but I won’t list them all here.)

I was on the pill for almost 8 years.  I went off in June and my periods were a normal 31-33 days each cycle.  We also started trying right away without waiting.  I didn’t start charting/temping/OPKing until cycle 6 and we got pregnant on cycle 7.

It took us 5 cycles.  I charted and used OPKs for all 5 cycles, so timing was not a problem for us.  It may have taken my body a month or two to regulate its hormones again as my first couple charts were a bit wonky.  So while we had good timing and I ovulated those months, I also know my temps and CM weren’t really what they needed to be for me to get pregnant.  Ragardless, we still got our BFP within the expected time frame.  I had been on the pill for 7 or 8 years before we started trying but my cycles were always super regular before I was on the pill too.
