Willow90:  I may be wrong about this, but I’m pretty sure you can’t ever leave the store with an actual dress the day you try it on unless it’s a sample sale or trunk show. Every store I went to only had the dresses to try on (which most were pretty beat) and did not have any “in stock.” Additionally, the Maggie dress I ended up purchasing came in several different colors (shades of white/off white) and the one I tried on was not the color I ended up choosing.

I believe they told me that it would take 6-8 months for my Maggie to come in. I ordered at the end of January, and it was in by the end of June, which was actually a little quicker than I thought it would be. However, on top of that I had to have alterations done, which you will usually have to leave time for at least one fitting after they’re completed to see how it fits, and often there will need to be more work done. I think I had 5 fittings over the course of 2 months (although that’s probably not normal-the woman I went to has RAVE reviews in my area, but she does little bits at a time. She says brides often change their minds closer to the wedding so she wanted to make sure that I was SURE about changes before they were made.)

Long story short, you should try to see if there are any Maggie trunk shows you could go to, because you can walk away with your dress that day. If you have to order, you will probably not get your dress in time. I really hope you can find one! I loved my Maggie!

Mine was about 6.5 months.  With your timeline, you’re probably going to have to buy a sample off the rack.

Willow90:  mine took 7 months to come in. Although, the salon didn’t call me (I called them because I started getting worried), and it was already there. Apparently, they e-mailed me, but I never received the e-mail. So who knows, it’s possible that it came in sooner!

On Maggie Sottero’s website, there’s a section called “priority dresses” and it says they have quick delivery – now I don’t know how quick they could be delivered, but you might want to ask the salons about it!

I echo with other PPs that with that timeframe you will have to buy a sample or pre-owned. Even if you did manage to speed order I’d still expect that to be a month or two. Unless you have the perfect measurements, you will most definitely need alterations so I’d say ordering in a new dress would be almost impossible.

I’d be open to having to buy a sample, or I would try on dresses , find styles you like and then see if you can buy pre-owned. In wedding dress terms 3 months is next to nothing.

jmcgal068:  thank you! It’s Sottero & Midgley’s Campbell in ivory. I had some major doubts at first but I am loving it now!
