First off, I LOVE the dresses. Not at all traditional, and still wedding-ish and gorgeous!

As for your dress shopping… I was engaged 7 months before we are getting married, which limited me a lot. I really liked a specific designer (Sophia Tolli), and it takes 6 months to get her dresses in. When I went dress shopping at the 6 month mark, I was told I could rush it in for an extra *** or I could buy a sample. The store I went to was a mom and pop shop and I ended up falling in LOVE with a sample that had just came in, so I bought it after inspecting it. Moral of the story, call and ask how long it takes for your store to order specific designers dresses. Some will say 8 months or MORE. A few places I heard about said it could take a year (not for Sophia, but other designers that were similar).

That being said, I think that if you are sick of dress shopping, you certainly won’t enjoy trying on any dresses right now. Taking a break is likely what you need or you will end up having dress regret.

Hey there, I got your first choice “Harlow” and it aslo comes in Ivory. All the Vera dresses come in Ivory aswell as their display colors…. Go try them on! As for time, you got plenty of it! I ordered my Vera 8 months out, but you should be okay at 7 months (but 6 may be pushing it)

My wedding is in 24 days.  I ordered at beginning of Nov. 2011 it arrived in Feb 2012 (Two weeks after it was quoted for coming).  Then started alterations a week later had my final fitting last week.  Standard 3-4 fittings.  first is when you get it.  Second is 3 weeks later then, two then one…it does take time! 🙁  I’m so glad now it fits and order up a size…much easier to take in than add fabric.

@TwoCityBride:  No I totally understand, I think Vera can do dresses in other colors (like blush you mentioned) it may be a little extra though. The third one you posted is a very “acceptable color” for bridal… its like champagne. Does Fiance not like that one either??

Usually, alterations are done at 6 weeks, 4 weeks, and 2 weeks out from the wedding, so you really want your dress by about 6-8 weeks before the wedding. Most boutique dresses take 4-6 months to come in.
