It took about four months for my dress to come in even though she told me to expect five to six months.

Mine took 6 months, but my wedding isn’t for quite a while yet, so I didn’t even expect it to come in yet.

@ChantelleyLace: I ordered mine in mid november and received a email from the store 3 days ago saying that it´s already in… so it took exactly 3 months from the day I ordered.

Hope yours come as fast as mine!

Good luck

I ordered mine in Sept and it arrived in Feb.

So it took about 5 months.

The knot says to ask for your exact date… did anyone do that?  Are dress shops even given an exact date?

@AmberAustin: I work in the prom side of the gown industry and I can tell you that it is near impossible to give exact dates for special orders to customers. We used to tell customers “your gown will be shipping to us on Feb 22 and it will take about 2 weeks after that for us to receive it”. Customers hear “Your gown will be in our shop on Feb 22” and then starting calling me on Feb 23rd. The other issue we run into is that shipments from the manufacturors get delayed because of customs and over sea transit and we end up receiving it later than expected. Usually I give ranges for when a gown is expected in (end of Feb, begining of March, etc) instead because it is less of a headache and less of a chance for miscommunication on all parts. If a gown isn’t in my store a week after the expected shipdate that was given to us we call to check on it for the customer so they don’t have to panic. Hopefully the gown will be delivered earlier than expected because people get super happy when that happens:)

I (my mom!) ordered my dress January 15th. The shop said it will be shipped out to them June 6th, and to give about two weeks for delivery, they should have it on or around the 17th. So almost 5 months to the day. I can’t wait!!!

Mine took 4 months. The dress came this last December despite the projected February delivery date. It sure is weird the variousness in the delivery dates for you brides. I wonder why some take longer than others? Hmmm…

I am so glad someone asked this.  I just ordered a maggie in January and just realized I was never quoted a time frame at all.  I fear mine will take pretty long because it is really elaborately beaded.  At lease I’m not getting married until September.
