I got pregnant on our second cycle trying. I was charting but we weren’t BDing very regularly since we were still early on in the process. If it matters to you, I’m 29, Darling Husband is 30 and we’re both in pretty good health.

The first time it took 3 cycles, 2 of which were charting/temping/cbefm-ing.

The second time, I had one period post partum, and then I was pregnant.  It was a surprise.

We are 27 and 37, and in decent health.

I got pregnant on our second cycle of TTC. I was charting and had been off BCP for about five months.

ETA: I’m 30 and Darling Husband is 34. Technically I was 29 when we conceived (we conceived two days before my 30th birthday).

I got pregnant on the NuvaRing in March…whoops. But miscarried ๐Ÿ™

This is our first cycle charting and TTC. I’ll let you know how it goes in 9 days!

We are 23 and 28.

It took my SO and I 6 months and believe me it was a total surprise.  For certain medical reasons I thought it would take us much longer to have a baby but much to our complete joy it didn’t.

I am so curious about this too.  I feel like the challenges of TTC are often not discussed, like taking forever, miscarriages, etc…. which makes it seem all the more mysterious.

We are also thinking of starting to try sometime in about 1.5 years… I will be 31 or 32, depending on the timing.  He will be 35 or 36.  Definitely nervous about it taking a long time.

@Almost Mrs.P:  I was 31 when I gave birth, for me it was our choice.  It’s not a bad age at all.

I got pregnant with my son when I was 21 by accident (I’m 26 now), but its taking us a while to conceive now that we are actually trying. I did get pregnant back in March before we really started trying, but it ended up being ectopic. We have been actively ttc since July with actually using opk’s and charting my temp since September and no luck yet.

It took us 2 months of actively trying. I was charting and very careful about BDing at least every other day in the fertile window. I started charting when I went off the pill 4-5 months before we started trying. We are both 31. I consider us quite lucky.

We are 27 and 40. It took us only 1 cycle of (very) actively trying. We had been using withdrawal and FAM as birth control before that and I had been charting/temping for about a year and a half already so I had a pretty good idea of my cycle. We just BD’d on the 4 days leading up to O and on O day and we got lucky ๐Ÿ™‚ Whew what a tiring week though!! I mean don’t get me wrong, I love sex, but 5 days in a row every month would NOT have lasted ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was worried I might have a luteal phase defect because of my really short cycles, plus I don’t seem to ovulate every cycle, plus I was (probably mis-)diagnosed with PCOS a while back, but either we just got super lucky or none of those problems were actually problems, I am 13 weeks now.

Good luck!

It took us 1 month of sort-of trying.  I mean, we weren’t preventing, so I guess that’s trying.  But I wasn’t charting or temping, or even all that aware of my cycle.  We did have sex a lot though.  Guess that did the trick.

We are both 32, no previous pregnancies for either of us, I’m 9 weeks along now.

I’m 29 now.  We went off birth control as soon as we got married and were in whatever happens happens mode and nothing for three months.  We stopped for a bit because we had a sibling’s Destination Wedding to attend and didn’t want to miss it, and started up again in August 2011.  Various degrees of trying to really trying (charting, supplements, tests for infertility issues) and finally got pregnant in November 2012.
