My partner and I are getting married next weekend and for honeymoon purposes I am staying on the pill for a few more days but then going off and trying to conceive. I have been on the pill or had a mirena for the past 14 years due to heavy periods and mild endometriosis.
Just wondering how long it took all you bees to concieve after going off the pill?

fwiw my friend concieved 3 cycles after getting off the pill.
When I personally went off the pill, I didn’t get a period for 9 months. I wasn’t producing any estrogen, if I remember right. They had to put me back on the pill briefly and then take me back off which stimulated.. whatever had forgotten how to work while I was on the pill.. and restarted my period. This was 6 or 7 years ago now, maybe more, so I don’t remember it all perfectly, but obviously if I’d had any plans at the time to TTC that would’ve been a wrench in the plans. (I just wanted to be free of hormonal BC.)

I never even got my period off the BC pill – got pregnant that first month!

Got pregnant my 4th cycle off the pill. I also had been on it for around 15 or so years

I think there are a few sub-questions that could be more helpful to ask/answer, so I’m going to do that 🙂
How long after coming off the pill did you get your period? – For me, about 50 days. I went off the pill twice in the last 15 years I was on it, and it always takes me a long time to get my first period.
How long after coming off the pill did you ovulate? – Because this is different- you can get a “period”or a bleed, without ovulating. I wasn’t temping for my first two periods after coming off the pill but I can confirm the third cycle I did ovulate.
How many cycles after coming off the pill did you get pregnant? Technically, four, but we were only actively trying (temping/charting) for two of those- and I got pregnant on the second cycle we were actively trying.
I kind of broke your question down into more specific questions because some women take a while to get their first period back, even longer to ovulate, and then sometimes may NTNP afterwards for a while, like we did for a cycle or two. But what you’re getting at is how long after coming off the pill do you have a normal, ovulatory cycle and how long after actively trying did you conceive, so I tried to answer that. Sorry for the long response but hope it’s helpful. Good luck!!

Coming off the pill it took me 2 cycles with my first child. After removing my paragard IUD it took me 4 cycles. With him I was temping. With my second I was not.

I went off the pill in April or May and bled as I’d expect to that same month – I never had a long delay in a period. I have no idea if I ovulated that quickly, I wasn’t testing. I got pregnant in the beginning of August, which was our first cycle trying.

I never got my first period after coming off the pill. Was pregnant that first month! This is not the norm though. That pregnancy ended at 22weeks (again, not the norm) and it took us 3 months of actively TTC the second time to get pregnant with this babe.

I went off the pill in July. Got married in August. Got pregnant in January. My periods never regulated but I used OPKs to help gauge timing.

I wasn’t counting at the time, but best guess is about 12 hours.
… For reals though, it was right away.

Got off the pill and got pregnant 3rd cycle. However, it was actually our first cycle trying. My first cycle after the pill was painfully long! I didn’t get my period for 90 days, but I did have confirmed ovulation. 2nd cycle was 50ish odd days and cycle I conceived I ovulated on CD28. So still long cycles unfortunately. :/ also that pregnancy ended in mc, but it was unrelated to bc pills.

I went off the pill in December figuring it would take a little bit to regulate everything since I’ve been on the pill for over 10 years, but I got pregnant right away! We were thrilled because everyone I talked to said it would take way longer.

Went off the pill in August 2014. Didn’t get pregnant until September 2016. I also have endometriosis and pcos so my experience is not the norm.

Went off and had my bcp “period”. Got pregnant two weeks later. I’ve always been ridiculously consistent with my periods so it wasn’t entirely surprising that we got pregnant on the first try.
