I did NTNP for three cycles and then decided to track O and it took 8 in total to get my BFP. That ended in MC. It took 6 cycles to get another BFP and that also ended in a mc. I don’t think it matters Whether you’re NTNP or TTC if you’ve regular cycles and regular O. There’s only one cycle I would have missed O had I not been tracking in the 14 cycles. It just takes longer for some than others and you won’t know until you try!
Yeah, it seems to very a lot how long it takes people when NTNT. Anecdotally, it does seem rather fast for lots of women — though I’m sure that’s because I pay more attention to the fast ones than the slower ones. What I find interesting is that before I started researching this a bit, I was thinking sex=baby, you know? In the US most kids grow up with the impression that if they have unprotected sex ONCE whenever they’ll magically be pregnant and now as an adult woman thinking about having a baby, I’m understanding that that’s not necessarily true.
Thanks again for sharing ladies and for putting up with yet another of these questions 🙂
Well, it took us three months of not using condoms or hormonal birth control but I had a good idea of when I was ovulating (not charting) so we knew there was a strong chance of pregnancy.
We used condoms exclusively for years after I went off BC. In March, we started using POM and didn’t conceive. In May, we started having unprotected sex, but not until about 4 days after my period tracker suspected a fertile window (I didn’t chart or check CM. Just tracked my period). We conceived in June, after BDing pretty consistently (daily or every other), so basically the first month of NTNP.
