Hi Ladies,
My fiance and I are getting married the end of April and want children right away. I have been on the pill for 11 to 12 years and I am finally stopping it in April. We are going to try for a baby on our honeymoon. I am a little worried because of how long I was on the pill and currently two couples around me are having trouble ttc.. so I guess im not expecting it to happen fast… but I am hoping for the best… fingers crossed!! I was hoping some of you wouldnt mind sharing your ttc stories… How long did it take you to get pregnant? Where you on the pill? if so for how long? etc..
Thank you!!

Was on the pill for.. 7-8 years, i think?
first baby I got pregnant during my second cycle off yhe pill.
I am pregnant now, got pregnant on my third cycle after getting period again from first pregnancy. We hadn’t been using contraception for 4 months, but we did get pregnant on our first cycle officially trying – as in, i calculated ovulation date with online calendar and we planned to have sex during fertile window. Turned out we were both sick during said window so we weren’t as active as planned, but what can I say, he has goid swimmers!

It took me 4 and a half years to get pregnant. But, I do not have regular cycles …AT ALL …maybe 3 a year, if I am lucky. I tried various treatments, weight loss, doctors, temping, charting, opks, etc. I was on the pill until I was 18, but it raised my Bridal Party, I gained a ton of weight, just for me I decided I will never use them again.
When I finally started big girl fertility drugs though, it took me four medicated rounds. Which, kind of fits in a regular-lady’s statistics. 🙂 GL

I was on the pill for about 18 years.
I got off the pill, and it took about 3-4 cycles for my period/ovulation to become regular.
It took us a year to get pregnant, but my husband had low morphology due to smoking. He cut back (and took Fertility Blend vitamins from GNC) and that helped.
Good luck!!

We’re still TTC so no input from me here, but we’re in the TTW for cycle 3. FWIW, my OB/GYN says it’s an average of 4 months barring anything alarming, such as age or proven low sperm count. I’m commenting to keep an eye on this thread.

I was on the pill for about 10 years in total. I came off it at the end of February last year and started charting right away. Got pregnant on our second cycle of TTC and am currently 31 weeks.

I was on the pill for about 8 years. I went off it Jan 2012 AF didn’t become regular until about April 2012 and we’ve been TTC for 7 months now. When I say trying I mean trying everything! It’s just different for everyone, if you look into statistics it takes the average couple 12 months.

I was on the pill or other hormonal birth control (tried Mirena IUD, NuvaRing, Depo Shot) for 9 years, stopped, charted, and got pregnant on 3rd cycle off the pill. If you want to increase your chances, I would totally recommend reading up on how to interpret your fertility signs so you can time intercourse the best. 🙂

I was never on the pill or any other type of hormonal birth control. It took us 11 months to conceive. During the TTC process, I learned I don’t always ovulate on the same CD each month and we got our timing wrong a few times.

Ive been off the pill for about 7 years. I just never found one that didn’t make me sick. It took Darling Husband and 7 months to conceive. It was a bit of work. However, the month that I did not fret or stress about getting pregnant (because I had so much going on at the time at work, friends weddings, christmas, family) was the month we conceived!

It took us three months, and I had perfectly regular cycles. We consider ourselves EXTREMELY lucky!
