Just a curious question about how long did you first date before your fiance proposed and how long after did you get married?
Where I’m from, it’s normally about 2.5 years dating then proposal then a year of engagement. (of cos everyone is different, but generally from my friends and friends friends)
What about you?

We got engaged just before our 7 year anniversary and then had a 13 month engagement. We started dating when we were 18 and weren’t in any rush.

We dated for 3 years, 9 months, 28 days when we got engaged 🙂 I had to look that up lol, I always tell people “about 4 years” 🙂
In my social circle folks date for at least 2 years before getting engaged, and almost every couple I’ve seen who got engaged/married before 1 year had passed are now broken up or divorced. You can’t rush these sorts of things! Honeymoon phase is REAL ya’ll

9 1/2 years of dating before we got engaged then engaged for 1 1/2 years then married after 11 years and 2 months of being together. I was 17 and DH was 20 when we started dating so we wanted to wait until we were both ready to get hitched! Oh and no surprise engagement for me, sat down and talked timelines and I got to pick out my own ring 😉

1.5 years of dating before getting engaged, and we’re having a 7 month engagement. We decided to move abroad together after about 9 months of dating, so we were serious pretty quickly.

Dated for four years; we were 22 and 25 when we met. Still felt like an absurdly young bride at 26 but oh well 🙂

Dating for almost seven years before getting engaged. We will be engaged for about a year and a half before we get married. My parents got engaged two months after meeting and were married three months after that. Almost 37 years later they’re still going strong! Similar story for my fiance’s parents too! My how things were different back then.
