Fiance and I had a big talk the other night, and we came to a consensus on our TTC timeline! We get married this Fall, and we want to be pregnant with baby #1 before I turn 30 (I will be 27 on our wedding day). Now the big question is, when to have my Nexplanon removed and start TTC? I talked to my doctor, and she said that once the implant is removed, I can get pregnant right away.
I have heard so many different stories, and I know everyone is different, but I would love to hear your TTC stories. How long did you TTC for baby#1? Also, did you start taking prenatals or anything while TTC?
I apologize if these are common questions, but I am just getting into all of this and dont know much! Just excited to get our family started after our wedding!

I took prenatals for a month before trying to conceive with both my babies. Research has shown that building up your body’s folic acid supply can reduce the chances of certain major birth defects.
We got lucky on the first try with both pregnancies, at age 30 and then 32!

You’ll definitely find a variety of TTC timelines on here as really everyone’s journey is different! You could get pregnant right away, or it could be just a few months, or many months! Having a goal you want to be pregnant by is fine (I had one too!) but just keep in mind that it could happen earlier or later than your goal and that is okay!
As for me, we were trying for 5 months (and this is with charting my cycle and timing BDing each time) before we got our first BFP last month. Hoping it sticks! I was taking prenantals for a year beforehand, because we originally thought we were going to start trying earlier than we did and I just keep taking them throughout. I had really irregular cycles though and decided to try Clomid the last month we were TTC and that worked like a charm for me. I would definitely recommend charting your cycles so you can get an idea where yours are at and be able to pinpoint ovulation more accurately!

18 months for baby #1 (I have PCOS so that hindered us a bit) and 1 for baby #2. Took prenatals for months before hand for both.

I got off the pill hoping to get pregnant right away, but it took 5 cycles. If I could go back in time I would have gotten off BC sooner and started charting, so that I knew my cycle prior to TTC.
I also did start taking prenatals, probably a couple months into TTC.

I was on the Nuva Ring for a looooonnggg time. I got Married July 7th, took it out when we got home from our trip, so maybe a week later, and then got a withdrawl bleed, had another period a few weeks later, had another period on Sept 2nd and then I was pregnant the middle of Sept .. my body got back to normal instantly and I got pregnant very quickly. I didnt take prenatals or anything because since I was on the ring for so long I thought I needed to get myself “regular” and get all the hormones out out my system but nope lol we also werent really super trying, like we had sex 2 times in September for the whole month (bad i know) and I still got pregnant

my ob recommended taking prenatals for 4 months before ttc.

I took prenatals and an iron supplement for six months before TTC. The first month we decided to TTC, I got sick during my window so we only tried once. That was enough 🙂

I started taking prenatals in October, we tried in November and December and got pregnant in January. So, on the third month. Also in December we realized that Darling Husband should stop going in the hot tub every night because it could affect sperm. So we put that to a halt. I recommend prenatals and OPKs a few months before you start trying.

I started charting in July 2012 to try to predict when my period would come after a pregnancy scare. My cycles were always long and irregular. I started prenatals in January 2014 (I think) because I had heard that all women of childbearing age would benefit from taking them. They did make my hair and nails stronger! We started TTC in January 2015 and it took us 16 months to conceive. We were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and did IUI to get pregnant. ETA I haven’t been on hormonal birth control since 2007; we used condoms.

It took us 8 months to conceive the first time (previously using condoms as birth control) and 4 months the second time. It varies so much, there really is no way to know until you start trying.

We did 1 cycle NTNP, then when we actually started TTC, I got pregnant on the 2nd cycle. 11w now 🙂 I didn’t expect it to happen so quickly especially since I just got off the pill but everyone is different! I started prenatals about a month before we did NTNP.

there are a million factors and you never know how long it will take. I took vitamins while TTC (just regular, the prenatals made me sick) but I also have a healthy diet. Prior to trying we had no reason to think we wouldn’t succeed on our own but it took us two years and IVF to conceive. My best friend got pregnant on her first try.

I started prenatals in June and I was pregnant in Sept. I was doing OPKs and had regular cycles.

It definitely varies. I got my Mirena taken out at the end of March 2016 and got my period about 2 weeks later. I started prenatals when I got my IUD removed. We started TTC in May and I got pregnant on the second cycle in June.
