How long did you wait before TTC #2?

DS just turned 2 on Sunday and that day I found out I am pregnant! So they will be 33 months (almost exactly 2 years 9 months apart). I breastfed until DS was 1 and then got my period back right after that. I really enjoyed that year where I wasn’t pregnant and wasn’t breastfeeding. I personally couldn’t do the 2 under 2, but I know a lot of people who have done it and loved it. The body does do better when given at least a year between pregnancies. Give it some time and reevaluate in a few months. Babies change so quick and in a few months, you may not want another so soon. It’s hard to say!

Vineyard-bride15 : DH and I are going to TTC #2 at the end of this month (getting my IUD out next week! eep!) DS is going to be 9 months on the 20th of this month. I’m going to be 27 this year and Darling Husband will be 40.

Though we do have time on our side, I absolutly can not imagine getting out of the ‘baby, diaper, etc.’ phase only to get back into it with a second child. Also, since Darling Husband is 13 years older he would like to have the second baby ASAP. It took us 6 months to concieve DS, so we figure we might as well get onto #2 fairly quickly.

I had some struggles with Boyfriend or Best Friend (it was all me, he was latching great) but we had so much crap going on (moving, Darling Husband was off work for 2 months with kidney stones — he could hardly walk) so with all the stress of that and a touch of PP depression, we started with formula when DS was 8 weeks old because I couldn’t keep up with his demand.

We started TTC when our first was a year. I was 32, so I didn’t want to wait too long. We also were engaged at the time and wanted to have another before the wedding, since We had a long engagement. We had some troubles TTC (2 MC) so my two ended up 2 years 4 months apart. It’s a good age difference. We had been shooting for around 2 years apart, so it worked out.

Hello, I will give you my mom’s experience.

My mom had my sister and I almost exactly I year apart. So, she waited under 3 months before she got pregnant with the second (me). I would not say she “waited” to get pregnant again as I was unplanned. My parents just happened to have a regular and active sex life (tmi). I am not sure how long she breast fed my older sister, but I know there was no formula involved. I don’t know anything about her period or cycle.

I don’t think you’re crazy for wanting another one that soon. I personally loved having a sister so close in age. I think my mom didn’t mind it either since many things we were able to do together.

I’m TTC now, and have been since Dear Daughter was 12 months old.  Darling Husband and I are both 33, and we want 3 kids, so sooner would be better than later for us.  We’ve been actively TTC for one month.

Ours will be just over 2 years (26 months or so) apart. My son is 18 months and I’m 5.5weeks pregnant.

We didn’t use any protection since he was born. Got my period back around 8 months postpartum and breast fed until 14 months. So got pregnant a little less than 4 months after stopping breast feeding.

Mine will be exactly 2 years apart. I think it’s gonna be rough in the beginning having a smallish age gap but I hope they grow up close 🙂
