Met my now husband when I was 34….I was over the “dating longterm” phase of my life, and I remember telling him that early on. We moved in together around 9 months, got engaged just after our year anniversary, and then got married 9 months later. Once we knew, we knew, and we wanted to start our lives together soon. We talked timelines early on, so I knew we were on the same page.
It didn’t feel too fast, though, it just felt right. I do think that us being older definitely moved things along.

We met when I was 37 and he was 40. We got engaged a little less than 3 months after we met, and got married 8 months later. We saw no reason to wait – we both knew what we wanted and wanted to start our lives together as soon as possible!

We were 32 and 34 when we met. We got engaged after about a year and 9 months. But he was in a really long and drawn out process to buy a house (for both of us to live) so it could have happened sooner had it not been for the house. We first went ring shopping about 6 months before he proposed, so by that point we knew. Once we got engaged, we planned the wedding fairly quickly, in 5 months. At that point, we didn’t really see any point to wait any longer. I do think I made it clear that I wasn’t willing to wait forever, because having a family is really important to me, but I’ve been comfortable with our pace so far. Due to financial goals and grad school, we are waiting just a bit longer to have kids.
