11 months for us. the only reason it was that long was because we didn’t want to get married from november-january since we have so many out of town guests. i know a lot of them travel for the holidays, so we felt like travelling to texas for our wedding might be too much. and our venue books up like a year in advance.

my fiance made it a point to tell me that once we were engaged, there would be no “waiting around” for 2 years to get married. we would have whatever wedding we could afford, and have an engagement that was less than one year. it was really important to him NOT to be engaged for a long period of time (no idea why..but i agreed with him!).

Ours was 10 months and I think I would have started going crazy if it was much longer than that!  Even with 10 months to plan, i had 2-3 months in the middle where absolutely no planning went on.  Darling Husband and I were just ready to be married and continue on with our lives without having to focus on wedding planning.

ours was 10 months, and i would have wanted it to be a little longer–a lot of venues and photographers were already booked that far out. we knew we wanted a summer wedding because i was starting grad school in the fall and didn’t want to be planning while in school. longer is def better in terms of locking down your top choice vendors!

There is no timeframe for getting married after the proposal. I wanted my engagement to be a year, so that i could enjoy it and also have ample time to plan. It worked out great for me. Hubby proposed on Oct 17 (the day before our 2 year dating anniversary) last year. We got married on Oct 16 this year.

It will have been 16 months for us. we got engaged in February, on our 6-year dating anniversary.  I wasn’t in a big hurry to start planning the wedding – I knew that summer was the only practical time for us (I’m in academia), and there was NO WAY I could have planned a wedding for that summer.  So, next summer it was! That was fine with me;  I’m happy to have a nice leisurely engagement.

We will have been engaged for a little under two years by the time we get married. I really wanted a long engagement – we’re only 23 now, and I’m in no rush. Neither of us is going anywhere. This way, we have lots of time to get some financial padding, do lots of looking and planning, and focus on what comes after the wedding day, too 🙂

1 year and 10 months by the time we get married! Fiance and I both knew we wanted a summer wedding, but he proposed at the end of the August… 2011 was already starting to fill up with weddings, vacations, graduations, etc… so we decided to wait until 2012. We will be getting married on our 7 year dating anniversary.

Ours is 16 months. We really wanted to get married in Napa County, CA during summer and didn’t want to rush with the planning details this year so we decided for next summer.

For us, it’ll end up being two years, three months and eight days.

And exactly six months from today. 🙂
