For those of you who chart and have gotten pregnant, I’m curious how long you continued tracking your temperature?
I got my BFP 11DPO, and have continued taking my temperature for the last few days. I’m at 16DPO today. (AF usually arrives 12 or 13DPO).
My temperature this morning was a little lower than I would have liked. It’s still well above the coverline and I took a HPT this morning to reassure myself, which came back nice and dark almost immediately. So I’m not particularly worried about this morning’s temperature, but I’m starting to think that continuing to track my temperature at this point has the potential for more harm than good. While seeing my temperature stay nice and high or rise would be reassuring, I don’t think it’s worth the stress that seeing lower numbers can cause.
I’d really appreciate hearing anyone else’s thoughts/experiences. Thanks!

I stopped after 3 days, I was driving myself nuts!

@angelicwink: I stopped right away because A) it would just stress me out when it isn’t a great indicator of things going well or poorly and B) I hated getting up and shoving that thing in my mouth! Just gotta relax and trust your body to do what it’s supposed to once you get the BFP. 🙂

I stopped after a few days, just long enough to make sure it stayed up a couple of days after expected AF but not so long that it started driving me mad. It will mess with you if your temp fluctuates at all and stress you out for nothing. I suggest retiring the thermometer, congrats on your pregnancy! 🙂

I haven’t gotten a positive HPT yet, but the moderators on the TCOYF boards recommend stopping temping after getting your positive for the exact reasons PP posted about.

Thanks, ladies. I think it might be time to put the thermometer away. It will be strange to stop after using it every day for months, but I think I’ll ultimately be happier. And you’re right–I need to relax and trust my body to do its job.

I stopped after seeing the Dr to confirm the pregnancy which was a few days after I tested at home.

I loved taking my temp. With my temperature spiking I actually thought I was PG three days after ovulation. I waited till my period was 7 days late to test though and stopped temping two days later. My alarm went off every morning at 6am even if I didn’t have to get up. Its nice to just snooze now. 🙂

I temped the day I tested and then stopped. It’s so annoying and don’t want to worry about it.

Well, I didn’t test until the day after AF was due. When my temp was still elevated that morning, I knew I should test and I got a BFP. I didn’t bother temping at all after that day.
