My reception lasted approx. 2 hours. May seem short to some but thats the exact amount of time that we wanted. We had a casual outdoor wedding with no sit down dinner so we though that 2 hours would be plenty. How long was your reception?

Our ceremony is at 5:30 and reception is immediately following (so starting about 6 I figure), ending at 11. 5 hours. I hope most people will stay at least until 9. We have entertainment options for the non-dancers too.

Including cocktail hour it will go from 4:30pm – midnight. We are assuming most of the older guests will leave at 9pm (after the bouquet and garter toss) and then it will have more of a party vibe.

We had the venue for 5 hours, with a 1/2 hour ceremony, so reception with cocktail hour was 4.5. We had an after-party at the hotel bar, which was just a mile away- a lot of guests who weren’t staying at the hotel still came to that as well.

we are planning on 530pm-1am, so 7 and a half hours, saving all the money I can since its a long time for an open bar

We’re planning on a 4:30 ceremony, cocktail hour from 5-6, and reception from 6-10, so 4 hours. We’re not allowed to stay at the venue past 10 because of noise ordinances so if we’re still up for more partying afterward we’ll probably go out downtown near the hotel most of the guests will be staying out.

Mine is going to be 6 hours, including cocktail hour. We have the venue from 12-12 and we HAVE to be out by midnight so I’m doing a quick 4pm ceremony, then the reception from 5 – 11.

Our ceremony is starting at 3:30 and will last about 30 mins. Cocktail hour while we’re doing our pics from 4:00-5:00 so the reception is going from 5:00 to 10:00.. DJ is playing until 9:30 tho.

Right now it’s supposed to be six hours. Our Venue discourages people by the fee they charge per hour to go over the alloted time. Fi already told me he is putting the money in our budget because if the party still going we are going to have it go until 2am. We have a good mix of ages and a lot of people in the 20’s and 30’s so we might end up having a late party.

Our reception lasted from 7:00 to 11:00. It started to die down a lot around 10:30 or so though. I think it was a decent amount of time! 🙂

We’re having a really casual beach wedding on a Sunday afternoon, so we are just doing a dessert/cake reception. Our length will also be two hours. That gives everyone plenty of time to get home to Portland/Roseburg (both are three hours from the venue) so no one has to miss school or work on Monday morning.
