@DeathByDesign:  The first look and wedding party photo’s can be taken in an hour without being rushed, but the BEST person to buy into this timeline is your wedding photographer.  Family formals, and small groups are typically done quickly, in about 30-45 minutes.

I had an hour and 20 minutes between ceremony and reception to take all photos.  We got plenty of great shots, although I wish we had a few more in different locations around the golf course.  We just made sure that everyone who needed to be in photos was with us at the right time, and everything ran pretty smoothly!

It depends on your photographer.. some of them are very good at taking charge and getting through the photos fast without you feeling rushed. My photog was utterly useless and SLOW he took forever just to take each shot

We only had an hour between the ceremony and the reception and we were done with family/BP/photos of Darling Husband and me in about 35-40 minutes. Maybe it depends on how many different group shots you’re hoping to get, or if you want to take pictures at a variety of locations, but in our case we had more than enough time.

I made my timeline based on my photographer’s suggestions, though, so maybe give him a shot list and ask him how long he thinks you’ll need to schedule for them.

I think your timeline looks great, but I would suggest building at least a half hour into your evening schedule for a few pictures after the ceremony if possible just because the light is going to be so much prettier in the evening and lend itself better to soft, romantic images.

@DeathByDesign:  Of course!! We took most of our portraits before our 5:30 ceremony, but took about a 30 minute break right before sunset for a few more and those are probably my favorite! That evening light ain’t called the golden hour for nothing;)
