Pengy – you need, first of all, insurance.  Then you won’t have to worry about losing the stone!  And, it seriously sounds like you need a new setting.  There’s no way you should be able to draw blood with your ring unless there is something wrong with it.  There are all kinds of setting that are much more streamlined, with no sharp edges.  And it’s also possible to have a really good-sized stone with a low-profile setting – mine is 1.5 ct, and I’ve never even snagged it on a sweater.

I waited patiently for 6 years for my e-ring and it is not coming off. I never knew that women wore their wedding band without their e-ring.

I have no plans of not wearing it. I think my husband would be quite upset if I put the ring back into a box after him choosing it for me. My Mother-In-Law says I will not want to wear it when I have kids so I guess I will have to wait and see…..

I plan on wearing my every day. I love it and after only a month of having it, I feel naked without it. The way my ering is designed, my band is going to have to be fit to it, but we’re trying to figure out a way to design it so it also looks good on its own. Just in case I decide not to wear my ering or decide to pass it down to our future child to use.

I never thought twice about NOT wearing it! I love my engagement ring….plus my wedding band integrates into it. I’m planning on getting it soldered together as soon as we get back from the honeymoon!

Mine will be soldered together, so I plan to wear them both forever. With the exception of during pregnancy/weight gain, in which case I’ll wear them around my neck on a chain.

Forever! Pfffft after everything I went through to find the PERFECT ring, my man would STRANGLE me if I just stopped wearing it one day. Besides, it’s huge so it will make a great weapon for self defense, lol.

@august15bride: LOVE that movie!!! LOL And I plan on wearing mine all the time!!! I take it off to cook, shower, sleep, etc. and will still do that…but Fiance didn’t pay that much for me to wear something for a year and then just let it sit there! Plus, I love wearing it Smile

I agree with one of the PP – I waited too long for this ring – it’s not going anywhere but my finger!!

I don’t plan on ever taking my engagement ring off. I got an e-ring/wedding ring set so they will both fit together on my left hand. They both compliment each other and I love them both! I couldn’t imagine not wearing it after the wedding.

Mine will be off and on.  I have a countoured wedding band which would look silly without the engagement ring.  BUT I also have a simple white gold band to wear other times alone.

Children aside, there are just times when I wouldn’t want to wear nice expensive diamonds, such as when we go camping or to the beach or traveling to some foreign countries.

I hadn’t really thought about it, but I’ll probably wear my engagement ring all the time, with the exception of dishes, yard work and cooking since I get my hands pretty dirty.

Wow I love seeing all the bees on this thread! I actually just ordered a new setting for my e-ring so I can wear it forever. Right now it’s a 6 prong solitaire set really high and it is incredably annoying getting caught on things all the time (and I have hurt myself and others with it as well). My new setting is a halo almost bezeled (hopefully, assuming they set it the way I’ve requested). It will be alot more comfortable and practical. Since it was so expensive, I decided to wait to buy the matching wedding band for an anniversary, so for a few years at least I will be wearing the e-ring only.
