I’m not sure anyone can guess. Will it slow down with warmer weather or will it worsen? When restrictions are lessened will there be another wave? Will it mutate? If it does, will it become better or worse? No one knows.

I am hopeful it will have died down by the next school year in september. So 5 more months maybe.

I’m going to be optimistic and hope this ends in the next few weeks.   Based on the numbers right now, there is no way that millions are going to die from this.  This article is more on point of what is happening — https://news.yahoo.com/why-nobel-laureate-predicts-quicker-210318391.html

Things will get back on track when the cost of the shut downs outweigh the potential loss of life.  People can only handle being shut in and without income for so long.   Watching the economy tank, jobs lost, and lives in ruin can only go on for so long.

Sadly I think it will be 6- a year, probably longer. I don’t see this going away in “2 weeks”. That’s foolish thinking. If we become lax in 2 weeks then it will boomerang back with a vengeance.

Let me put it this way…our workplace has just implemented alternative working in the office weeks if you don’t want to work from home 100%. When I said goodbye to my Project Manager I said “Merry Christmas” because literally I think it’ll be the next time I see his face.

My money is on 6 months as a stretch target, closer to 9-10 months.

brideandblue :  I’ll say over a year. I actually think the longer it goes on the more it will change work practices. Why come into the office or travel long distances for conferences when you’ve proven to yourself during this thing you don’t need to?

In the U.S., Trump’s new push is to scale back social distancing in 15 days. But something tells me even if that happens we still won’t be hugging and we will be worrying.
