My fiance is Jewish and, even though he has said that it doesn’t matter to him, I want to convert and feel very strongly about it. Is it a long process? Also, is it difficult to find a synagogue or rabbi to assist with conversion?

Good evening. I have to say, this journey will be so special for you, since it is coming from you strongly. I recently had my Bet Din on 11/20/14 and naming ceremony on 11/21/14, and it was the most special moment in my life. I started going to a reform temple in Southern California early/mid-2013 which my friend recommended, and the Rabbi accepted me graciously. My fiance (who is Jewish) did not care if i was jewish or converted; i found the Jewish Tradition embracing. It took about 1-1.5 years to convert. My rabbi stated I was ‘ready.’ I suggest making meetings with your Rabbi, explore the different denominations (reform, conservative, etc). I took in a lot of readings, and enrolled in a lot of Adult classes that my Rabbi recommended. I stil am enrolled.
feel free to PM if you want to talk more. And if you live in Southern Cali, I can share the Temple/Rabbi’s info 🙂
