I’ve been trying to find a florist and it is taking forever. Initially, when I email the florist, they respond right away. But, after we start working together, it takes them FOREVER to get back to me with a quote. Then, when I want to change some items because the quote is too high (even though I already gave them a budget), it takes them even longer!
Anyone having the same experience? I already worked with 1 florist who seemed to get fed up because she gave me a quote that was way too high and I kept telling her I couldn’t afford it, so she just didn’t seem to want to work with me.

Is it possible for you to go into these places in person? Some vendors work better when you are right in front of them.
However, if they are being that unresponsive when they are trying to get your business, I wonder how they would be once you signed the contract and handed over your money?

I agree with rosychicklet go see them in person. Also, maybe start with giving them your budget and see what they can offer you.

good point! I thought I wouldn’t bother them by seeing them in person since I am just waiting for a quote, but that would probably put more pressure on them. thanks!

I have been in the same boat regarding waiting for florist replies via email. I don’t know why it takes them longer….but I have yet to get a quote since I first contacted my florist in Feb. and my wedding is in June and I still haven’t been told a quote. I’ve decided to go ahead and DIY my flowers and cancel my services with the florist I was considering to do my flowers.
BTW, I would have to travel 4 hours in order to see my florist (or any florist) so I’ve had to rely on emails since I work full time and can’t travel the distance to see them as often as I would like.

All of the florists I spoke with were like that. The florist I picked actually took a week longer than she said she would to get back to me. But, I checked with my venue (she was a preferred vendor at this site) and she said that the florist was very reliable. A friend that used this florist said the same thing.
I think that florists are often very artsy and are probably concentrated on the wedding that is THIS weekend, not yours that is months away. That being said, a florist runs a business, so they should have enough common sense and business sense to deal with customers in a timely manner. Plus, you are paying them for their services.
I trusted my gut on this one and went with a florist who took a bit of time to get back to me, but is ultimately going to show up and really deliver great floral arrangements on my wedding day. I was thrilled with the trial arrangement that she showed us last week & I know the wedding day arrangements will be great!
If you think that the florist will NEVER get back to you, or that they’ll be super hard to work with and you’ll always be chasing them down, then I wouldn’t set yourself up for that kind of stress. Move on and find someone who will pay attention to you when you need it!

Florists are very very busy. You are much more likely to get a speedy answer if you are right there waiting for it. That’s pretty much the case with anyone. 🙂
