It really varies on the person, if you’ve agreed that he will be the one proposing he kind of gets to do it on his own time. I have friends who waited a few months, or a few days or even a year after picking up the ring- so, it really depends on the individual.

I know it’s SO much easier said then done but patience is key.  We went shopping in January but he had me convinced that it was not happening until after my sister got married which was in May.  I had to stop talking about it and thinking about it because I was driving myself crazy. He ended up surprising me at the beginning of April and I was shocked!

Try to be patient and know that even though it seems like it is never going to happen, it will!

good luck!

It takes 351 days. Just kidding! It totally depends. For us, as SOON as he had the ring he proposed. Even now he gets nervous just holding on to it while I put lotion on. at home. on the couch. I think for us it really boils down to he didn’t want to be responsible for it!

i think it totally depends on the couple.

in my situation, we talked about rings in late january. went ring shopping two weeks after that, and got engaged about 3 weeks after picking out the ring. he had picked up the ring about 5 days before, but waited to propose until we got to costa rica for our vacation.

I never picked out a ring or anything like that, but one night Fiance said do you like 3 stone rings. I giggled and said no.  I then said whatever you get me I will love because it is from you.  He then turned his laptop around and showed me 2 rings and said “better 1 or better 2”  I answered. He did this 3 more times.  It was about 6 months later that it happened, but we were together for a relativley short time anyways, so that may have had an impact.

In my situation…my Fiance proposed 6 mos after we went and looked at rings together.  It was longer than I wanted it to be…but well worth the wait 🙂

I’m just repeating what a lot of other bees said but… it totally depends on the couple!

Fiance and I started looking at rings in January. He didn’t propose until AUGUST! Yep, 8 long, agonizing months of when will he propose?

Personally, I would be asking him point blank if he was planning on proposing to you before May. I’m a timeline kinda gal and wouldn’t be prepared to make that move without a more solid committment.

From what you’re saying… I couldn’t even give you a guess on when he’s planning on proposing… it seems like he’s enjoying making you squirm. 😉
