I had to expedite mine and it took 2 weeks from application to my front door.

We had an expedition place here in the D.  We had them in 2 days.

ETA: I am almost positive Houston has one.

Dallas has one too.  Houston is same-day.  I remember after the requirements changed, we had tons of people from SA traveling up to Htown to get one.

My passport got misplaced a few years ago and I needed one stat so I scheduled an appointment at my nearest passport agency for the next available weekday.  The passport was ready in just a few hours and I promise you’ll have peace of mind once it’s in your hand.  Here is the list of agencies (there is one in Dallas!):  http://travel.state.gov/passport/npic/agencies/agencies_913.html

The link that @This Time Round provided is correct and accurate. I paid for expedited service and even paid for them to overnight it. It took just under two weeks (I received it a couple of days ago).

we applied for regular shipping, my fiancé got his in a couple weeks. I waited and waited, mine never came so I called and I guess since I had changed my last name at 13 years old that was a problem for them.. I had to send tons of paperwork and finally received it
