100 feet – that’s going to go pretty fast!  I would suggest measuring it out and actually timing the pacing.

Are you having someone there to control the music? We had a piano player and told him to play it by ear. Once where were down the aisle he stopped.

We had a friend controlling our music. We made sure the first person didn’t go till the music had started for about 30 seconds (so I could come in at the meat of the song). When I was at the front of the aisle, he slowly faded the music out using volume control. That way we didn’t have to worry about anyone going too fast and the song going on for too long!

My church had a short aisle, so I compensated by pausing with my Dad by the door for about 5-10 seconds then walking slowly. It probably was about 1-2 minutes of music, 30 seconds of walking.

Ours was a short aisle and walking down took no time at all…we had a friend play acoustic guitar so he was able to stop when it was appropriate

If it’s a short aisle, probably 30-45 seconds?

I don’t know the length of our aisle, but my best friend had stitches on her leg awhile back, so I took her slow-ness to measure the distance, and with us going like a turtle, it took 44 seconds.

Not long.

My friend’s recessional was a tad longer than that and all 10 people (attendants &bride) were upfront in under 3 minutes.

And we were walking slow.

It totally depends on how fast you walk!  At my sisters wedding, some girls took longer than others.  My sister’s SIL practically ran down, and her maid of honor took forrrrrevvvver haha…

Maybe measure out 100 ft on your sidewalk or something and time it that way.  My idea is to have everyone spaced so much time apart, and not when each girl gets to the end.  The song we’re walking to has a VERY specific point in which I start walking, so I think it’ll just be easier if we have everyone walk so many seconds apart from each other.

Definitely plan to rehearse, rehearse, rehearse too — that’s really important! 🙂
