I’ve never heard of a time frame of when to send thank you notes, but I’d take a guess and say as long as it’s before the baby is born. Once it’s born, you’ll forget about the notes!LOL

I think it’s always nice to receive a thank you note somewhat quickly after the event. However, the most important thing is to receive one at all! So don’t worry about the time frame… get them done when you can and I’m sure people will appreciate them. 🙂

I’m not sure if there’s a set timeline, but typically sooner is better, simply because the longer you wait the harder it is to get around to stuff like this! 🙂

The last two showers for which I sent gifts (couldn’t make either shower), I got a thank you within 2 weeks.

2 weeks is the norm around here.  I would think, personally, if I hadn’t gotten one for a month I wouldn’t get one at all.  Poor form.

I personally think 2 weeks is good.

I totally understand people being busy but I feel like Thank You’s should be a priority as all of those people took the time to shop for a gift and attend the shower.

A month seems like a long time. I feel like the longer it takes to recieve one the less “sincere” it seems (like someone is just sending it out of obligation rather than actual appreciation).

@chicagowife: My SIL had her baby shower in mid October…I didnt get her thank you note until mid January, after her son had already been born

I didnt really care when I got it because I knew she was near the end of her pregnancy and then just had her baby and hardly had time!

I found it quite rude that I went out of my way to get a friend of ours(hubby and I) expectant wife a gift for her baby shower even though I couldn’t attend due to work, and not even a thank you text, email, call, card. Nothing, didn’t even aknowledge that I sent a gift along with other peeps that were going. To quote Michelle Tanner, “How Rude”
