FH and I are planning a small wedding with now 16 guests, no bridal party. We are planning to have a ‘first look’ photoshoot, followed by our bride and groom portraits somewhere off location BEFORE the garden ceremony. Immediately after the ceremony the family portraits will be taken, a couple more of us newly weds too. Then we are all off to have a fine dining lunch reception.
How long should the first look and bride/groom portraits take? (not including travel time, I can add that later). 1/2 hour? 1 hour?? 2 hours???
How long should the family photos (18 people total) after the ceremony take?

@Notcool: I would definitely go with whatever your photographer says. They’re the professionals and they know what they’re doing!

You’re going to need to contact your photographer – anything we tell you here is just a guess and may not reflect the amount of time they need to provide you with the sort of results they show. Generally first looks don’t take more than 10-15 minutes, and generally most family poses take 2-3 minutes per pose. Most photographers like 30-60 minutes for creative portraits. However your photographer may be different.
