For me it was about 4 months. Decided I wanted to move quickly. Engaged in February and married in June. Actually found a site/vendor in June by going with a Sunday afternoon wedding.
Would love to hear how long for other bees.

Exactly six months for us! We got engaged on our two and a half year anniversary (October 13, 2012) and we got married on our three year anniversary six months later on April 13, 2013. We had our venue and a few things reserved before we got engaged so planning was a breeze!

i wish we could have done it that quick!!! we are almost at the 3 year mark because we simply dont have the finances to have a wedding.

We are over a year and a half into our engagement, it will probably be another three years before we can get married.

@Carolsays: 3.5 years over here!

We got engaged in April of this year and our wedding is in January 2014 – so 9 months for us! We wanted to get married in December but with the holidays, we decided to wait another month.

It’ll be 14 months. Would have been quicker but I didn’t want to get married in 2013 (as I think 13 is an unlucky number.. stupid reason I know) and I wanted to wait for the weather to warm up.

It looks like it’ll be 2016 now 🙁 so 3 years from engagement.

@Soon2BD-CBee: oh no! Date twin! What happened?
We got engaged a month ago, and are looking at April 2015, so 21 months. We’re venue hunting this month!

About 2 years and 7 months, if my math is correct (we were engaged in Feb. 2011).
The only reason we’ve had a long engagement is because we prioritized saving for and buying our first house together, which we bought in March 2012. We then set our wedding date in August 2012 and began saving and planning then. It’s worked out perfectly!

We becme engaged just before Christmas in December 2012, and will get married in January 2014, so our engagement will last about 12.5 months. I love being engaged and would not want to rush through this wonderful period in our lives.

We got engaged on April 20, 2013 and are getting married October 26, 2013. So just over 6 months!

Almost exactly one year, because our rather limited vacation falls at about the same time every year (both teachers abroad) so it was that or wait an extra six months and we didn’t want to do that.

Just under a year and a half so I voted more than a year. I could’ve easily preferred more time to plan, but my Mother-In-Law was suffering to walk as she suffers with Rheumatoid Arthritis (spelling?), but since has gone on to new medication so is now a lot more mobile, but the time was right for us anyway.
