Ms.PatientBee:  About half an hour. We bought the ring, he had it without me knowing it (I thought it was being resized) and he drove us somewhere straight afterwards and proposed. I think he was too excited to wait, plus he didn’t see the point of owning the ring and waiting.

Ms.PatientBee:  haha…. like three and a half years. We were in a long distance relationship, so we had made the decision and had the discussion we were going to get married before I moved across the country. Knowing that made the distance a lot easier for the two of us. So clearly I was looking at rings online and checking out stores for so long. I went through a lot of “this is the one” before we finally settled on the ring I have. I must have looked at thousands of settings… yikes

I’ll let you know when it happens. We looked at rings over 7 months ago and nothing 🙁

We looked at rings (and I picked one out) at the beginning of September, and I know for a fact that it was purchased/ordered two weeks after that. I am assuming he has to have it by now, but no proposal yet! So that means for me it’s been almost three months so far.

We went ring browsing at the very start of November, and I think he’ll propose before the end of May, so about 6-7 months… I may have to report back if it happens after May though, haha.

6 or 7 months and it was torture since I wasn’t even stressing getting married until I thought about rings with him (he took us shopping). Then my searches went from rings to dresses to venues… It’s a slippery slope 😛

We started browsing for rings and purchased one, he had it for about 6 months before he proposed.

The first time we looked online was in January but we didn’t start seriously shopping (actually trying rings on) until May. Took a few weeks to find the perfect one so the ring was purchased in June and he proposed in August. So a little over 3 months from seriously shopping until proposal. It felt like forever – especially knowing the ring was in the house those last 2 months.

About 3 weeks. He’d been looking on his own without my knowledge for about a month and then he finally asked for my ring size after a couple of unsuccessful attempts to sneakily find out. That same night, he also got some very general input on what I liked but he felt confident he was on the right track to picking something I’d love. He picked a band, picked a stone, and ordered it shortly after and proposed when he’d had it 2 days.

Almost a year! He started looking at rings last Christmas (I found a business card from the jewelry store in his pants when I did laundry and got so excited… and then nothing haha), but didn’t buy because he knew I wanted a gemstone and didn’t like anything much that was available in the major stores, and we had yet to discover the magic of vintage. We actually got engaged at the end of this September with a ring we chose together.
