We had a long-distance relationship at the beginning too. We both knew we wanted to get married before we met in person, but we didn’t get engaged until 2.5 years of living together because we wanted to make sure we were actually compatible and we wanted to get a house first.

My FH and I met on September 2013 in college. We crossed paths plenty of times FH said in 2012, but I didn’t really notice. We dated three months later, but we were liking each other within those two months. He told me he knew I was the one before we dated. We dated for a year and a half before he proposed. It will be 3 years since weve been together by the time we marry ๐Ÿ™‚

jweddingbee :  i knew he was the one 5 months after we started dating (4.5 years ago). We were long distance until about a year ago or we probably would have married a long time ago haha.

I knew pretty much right away. We got married almost 4 years to the date after our first date. I was 19 when we started dating, but we probably would have gotten married sooner if I was older. I wanted to finish college & get started in my career before getting married.  I wanted to be independent and stand on my own before getting married.

A year of our relationship (6months – 18months) was a LDR, and since it was so soon after getting together initially I think that pushed out when I knew. I probably only really realised at the 3 year mark? But we are super slow burn; 5 years friends before anything, and then >3months to love. We almost didn’t even consider doing the LDR to begin with, but pretty firmly entrenched at this point ๐Ÿ™‚ looks like it will be 5 years total to proposal

I knew 2 months in – we got engaged after 9 months of dating, and were married just over 5 months after that.  We are an older couple (I’m late 30s, he is late 40s), so it didn’t take us long to figure out that we had found what we were looking for!  I didn’t understand that whole “when you know, you know” concept, until…well, I knew.  ๐Ÿ™‚

jweddingbee :  I never really thought about it until he proposed. While I’ve been head over heels for him since the our second date, marriage was not a priority for me. We got engaged after two years of dating, moved in after 3, and will be getting married after 3 and a half.

A few months. My “the one that got away” called me (as he does from time to time, we dated for a long time and we value each other’s opinions). Every other time he’s called me, whether I was dating someone or not, my heart has skipped a beat and I’ve blindly wondered if he wanted me back, and been devestated when he just wanted advice, et cetera. That time he called me I felt…nothing other than concern for my friend.

We’d started dating when I was a senior in high school. I remember realizing “holy crap, I might marry this guy” sometime during my freshman year of college, but it was never a rush for me while we were in school. In the last year or so that we’ve graduated, established our careers, and moved in together, I’ve made the shift to having decided that I’m actually ready — but I sort of feel like I’ve always known! โ˜บ๏ธ

Our relationship evolved rather slowly. We met in December 2012 when I was 38 and he was 39 and it was 5 months before we even became Facebook friends (although the relationship was exclusive). It was one year, 2 months before he told me he loved me (I said it back), and we moved in together 3 years 4 months after we met (in April 2016). I would like to be engaged by next April, after 4 years and 4 months of dating. ๐Ÿ™‚

I probably starting thinking about marriage at about 2 years in and we starting talking about it about 6 months after that.

Don’t rush it, I was with a guy for over 2 years before I thought I was ready to marry him, it took him another year and a half to propose, and then 2 years after that to call it off because he wasn’t ready. Now I’m with a much better guy and I’m dying to move in with him after only 8 months (but he asked just before the 6 month mark) our families already see us getting married and I’m looking at wedding hairstyles while I’m bored at work lol. Every relationship is different. Go with the flow.

We are NOT married, nor even engaged yet, but we had “the talk” at the 6.5 mark, and we both agreed that we had both been feeling that way for quite some time but felt too crazy to say anything sooner than when we did. We even agreed that 6.5 months felt like “too soon,” but we just know.

I’d say… I knew around 5 months in. I was blown away by him consistently from the first date, it just took me 5 months to realize that it wasn’t an act, I wasn’t being wooed, he was REALLY as great as he seemed to be.

I’m 31 and he’s 27.

My husband proposed to me a little over a year after we started dating. We did move in together one month after we started dating. He had work a work injury so that led to me moving in with him so i can look after him. ๐Ÿ™‚
