Hi! I’m just getting around to figuring out my bridesmaids and when I was thinking about it, I realized that I keep in touch/hang out more with my newer friends as opposed to hanging out with my friends from college or high school. I’m trying to figure out do I go with newer but closer friends or friends that I’ve known longer. I added a poll just to see what other people did.

Maid/Matron of Honor has been my bff of 15 years. The others are newer additions to my life

- Wedding: September 2014 - Dallas, TX
I had the same dilemma. I ended up going with all newer friends because they are who I hang out with now, and one old friend who I still hang out with currently. I say you should choose the people in your life and who have been supportive now.

Mine is easy. I have just a Maid/Matron of Honor and it is my sister 🙂

Mine are my sisters and my nieces, so… Since I was born or since they were born, lol.

My Maid/Matron of Honor will be my bestfriend of 23 years!

I’ve been best friends with my Maid/Matron of Honor for 5 years, and the rest of my BMs are cousins, with FIs sister, and my brother’s soon-to-be (before the wedding) Fiance, who I’ve become very close with. I felt bad not having my close college friends who I’ve known about 3 years, but I didn’t want to open the flood gates and end up with 10 bridesmaids.

@Soontobemrs2012: My Maid/Matron of Honor is my sister so she’s known me for 27 years! LOL. Two of my bridesmaids I’ve known since high school, so 14 years. One from college, 10 years. Then the rest are FI’s family who I have known for about a year and a half! They’re great!

@Soontobemrs2012: Maid/Matron of Honor has been my best friend since junior year of college – so about 4 to 4 1/2 years now.
Bridesmaid or Best Man 1 and I have been good friends for about 3 years.
Bridesmaid or Best Man 2 and I have only been friends for just over a year, but I couldn’t imagine my wedding without her.
I don’t have any friends from childhood, I grew up in an Air Force family so we moved around a lot.

Maid/Matron of Honor: BFF of 13 years
Bridesmaid or Best Man (friend): 20 years
Bridesmaid or Best Man (friend): 21 years
Bridesmaid or Best Man (friend): 24 years
Bridesmaid or Best Man (friend): 3 years
Bridesmaid or Best Man (sister): 23 years
Bridesmaid or Best Man (sister): 19 years
so with the exception of one Bridesmaid or Best Man I’ve known everyone for more than a decade, and most of my girls for 2+ decades

Well I would go with whoever is closer to you.
Mine were 19 years, 15 years, 13 years, and about 9 years. I’ve known them forever, but they’re still my closest friends. I wouldn’t have a problem with someone I’d only known a few years if we were close, I just didn’t have any!

Mine span a broad range. I’ve been best friends with my Maid/Matron of Honor for 15 years. One of my bridesmaids I’ve known for 10 1/2 yrs and have been good friends with for almost 8 yrs. Another bridesmaid I’ve been friends with for over 5 years. The last Bridesmaid or Best Man is a newer addition. We have been friends for almost 1 1/2 years but do almost everything together.

@Soontobemrs2012: the Bridesmaid or Best Man that i’ve known for the shortest amount of time I met sometime in 2002/2003, so I’ve known her for 11-12 years now.

Matron of Honor – I’ve known her for 20 years, but we didn’t become friends until “recently” as in about 5 or 6 years ago.
Maid of Honor – I’ve known her my entire life, literally. Been friends basically since I was born 27 years ago.
Bridesmaids – Probably about 15 yearsish and the other is 20 years.
