I have moissanite side stones on my emerald ring and they still sparkle like hell. They and the Avarra are holding up very well. I really want an OEC moissanite next.

Silicon Carbide’s been used for years for industrial purposes, so it’s tough stuff.  Given some of the things its been used for, I wouldn’t be too worried about durability.  I have seen a few people say their smaller stones such as mellee can chip, but hey, even diamodns can chip.

@FutureMrsHolmes:  Melee is another way to say pave, basically. It’s anything under like 0.18ct I believe.

Curious: why is OEC so popular for moissy, more so than for diamonds?

@MrsBuesleBee:  I think old cuts are kind of popular in diamonds as well at the moment. Some diamond vendors (GOG for example) are trying to recreate them in August Vintange Cushions  and August Vintage Rounds. But for some only true old cuts will do, because they are perceived as more interesting to look at and less predictable than modern cuts, which are plentiful and available in every jewelrey store.
