We both had a lot of grown up to do….financially and career wise we both feel ready. Also SO has recently purchased a home which was one thing he wanted to do before been ready to move forward!! just for an FYI I was 15 and he was 17 when. We started dating…I think and believe its def time!!!!!

Mr VB chatted about it a while ago…he said after he finished school.  He was going to finish last Dec, then April, then August….Now maybe next April lol.  I joined in January because I was anxious about the delay.

We talked about it just last week, and it seems like I have anywhere from 6 months more or a year.  HAHA!  So I’ll be around for a while yet on this thread!

It honestly wasnt on my radar until we talked about how we’ll only be in our current city for another 2 years. My SO is in the military and if I want to go with him to his next duty station we’ll have to be married because he could end up going to a different country.

We have been dating for 2 1/2 years and living together for a year. We only seriously started talking about marriage a month ago. But since then I’ve been lurking on this site every freaking day! (Hence how I’m still a newbee and haven’t made any actual posts of my own)

None of my friends in real life are even close to being married so I am really glad I found Weddingbee!

We have been since high school, 6 years now. My cousin and sister (I was MOH) got married last year and I have been wedding-happy since then. Officially waiting for a couple months though, since he bought my ring back in June. I think I will be waiting a couple more months, but not too long since he told me yesterday it would be “soon” 😀

@busybee3791:  on and off since February. But after some good talks I’m pretty sure it won’t be till feb or march of next year.

Since May when we first went and looked at rings. He always said Christmas as the end of the timeline though, so it’s never been waiting and not knowing when. Its so hard to bloody wait!!

SO and I have been dating 6.5 years, since the beginning of college. We discussed marriage around year 2 and he always said after college. Once we graduated and I got a job, I was always bugging him to get a good job so that we could get married (he always wanted to be financially ready first) I finally calmed down about it for a little while, and he got a really good job. I didn’t really think about it and then he decided to take me ring shopping with the promise that we’d be engaged before june! We’ve been out of college for 2 years now. I think I’ve really been waiting since we graduated college. So hopefully soon!

I have been dating my SO since september 2011 and our fathers grew up together, so our families get along and have known each other for a fair while now. I know he has the ring, and he collected it around late august/early september and has asked for my parents blessing so I know that it will most likely be in the first two weeks of november or he may through me off completely and propose on my birthday this coming saturday! Doubt it, I am content waiting another month!! More time to loose more weight and tone up 😉

@busybee3791:  I’m the odd person in the bunch.

I’m already married, & my husband & I saved up for the ring together. But we decided we wanted to get married 4 months into our relationship (we were 18yrs old, GASP! lol). We saved up for just over 1.5yrs for my dream ring, & we have now been married for just under 3 months & together for just over 3 years. Happier than ever!

Waited for just over 1.5 years for the formal proposal, but didn’t wait at ALL to hear that I was “the one” 🙂

Mr TTR & I dated for close to 6-1/2 Years before he proposed.

In all those years, I would think about getting married occasionally… but recognized that we weren’t there yet…

Being both Encores, and having been married before over 20+ years we were both very much gun-shy, and aware that we didn’t want to make any more mistakes (go thru a Divorce again, Divorce is the WORST thing on the Planet IMO)

When I did make up my own mind… and expressed my LIFE PLAN to Mr TTR, he was pretty much there already too.

So then it was just a case of waiting for him to Propose

That took him about 4-1/2 months to find the right occasion to verbalize

Lol, mind you when he did Propose… he also had a lot of the details worked out for the Wedding (his vision)

Then after that another 6 weeks for us to find The Ring

(I joined WBee while we were hunting for the Ring… and hung out here on the Waiting Board for a short period of time.  Never long enough tho to hear about / make the Bee’s Waiting List)

To be honest, even though I’ve been on the waiting list for over a year, I’ve really only been waiting for the last four months since I knew it wasn’t going to happen until my SO graduated.  I only joined the list because I thought that was what you did.  In retrospect that was a dumb decision.
