My wedding will be a simple Christian wedding, perhaps a sand ceremony. We haven’t set that in stone yet as we are from CA and have our wedding in Georgia (not sure how carrying sand on the plane will work out)…Anyway, we have 6 Bridesmaids and 6 Groomsmen. 1 flower girl, 1 ring bearer.
How long do you think the ceremony will last?

Oh I should also add that our ceremony will start at 5:30pm…

I believe it like 5 hours for the whole wedding.
The ceremony may last around 30 minutes depending if you are doing anything special.
During the ceremony we are presenting the bible, doing a unity candle, & doing something to unity us as a family ( Me and my son with FI). We are Christian.

It can be anything from a 5 minute JoP courthouse ceremony to a 2-hour Catholic mass. Whatever you want. Mine is lakeside and will probably go about 20-25 minutes, if that helps.

depends on the formailty of the wedding.
I’ve been to some Catholic weddings where they have full mass and the ceremony itself was over 2hours long.
What sorts of readings or blessings do you think you will be including? Will there be a sermon or prayers during your ceremony?
A ‘short’ ceremony is anywhere from 10-35 minutes give or take. Many ceremonies are about 35 minutes to an hour, anything more than an hour I would consider a ‘long’ ceremony.

Hello ladies, I don’t know if I was confusing you guys, but I mentioned Christian wedding, and was wondering how long the CEREMONY typically last…

Stating that it is a “Christian” wedding doesn’t really allow us to tell you anything more than the PPs have already told you. You can have 10 minute “Christian” ceremonies and you can have 60 minute “Christian” ceremony and anywhere is between (or longer if you really want).
The length of your ceremony entirely depends on exactly what you, your Fiance, and your officiant work out that you want to include. Based on what you’ve told us, no one can give you anything more than generalities.

Yeah, it depends what you’re doing. Mine was also a “Christian” wedding, and it was about 15 minutes: procession, prayers and stuff, 1 reading, homily, vows, prayers, recession. Done. It will be longer if you have more/longer readings, a longer homily, any other stuff like a singer, candle lighting, communion, etc etc etc. But typically, the ones I’ve been to have been about 20 minutes, and the longest I’ve been to was an hour (that one had communion).
