    I’d say 6 – 12 weeks, after three months I start getting anoyed if I haven’t received a thank you card.

    Etiquette doesn’t specify a time frame, but it should be as soon as possible. Also, etiquette does not care about waiting for a photo card, just about thanking your guests promptly.

    I am one of the two (current) votes for one month, but really I think it should be within a week or two of return from your honeymoon.

    I like to get mine out two weeks from receiving a gift. It lets the giver know that I was really quite grateful and on the ball.

    Before the wedding it is 2 weeks. After the wedding it is 3 months according to Emily Post.

    I had a co-worker tell me that you have a year to get them out.  I was like “huh”.  He and his wife also did a picture thank you.  He was married in May of 2010 and I know in March of 2011 half of the thank yous still were not sent.  I would have been pretty upset if I was a guest.

    @dallasbride2012: Here is the rule

    With weddings, most etiquette experts give brides and grooms a year to respond, since guests have a year to send gifts. (The Emily Post Institute argues that three months is still the norm, though.)

    Hey! I accidentally agreed with Emily Post.

    I think all that year stuff is such BS
