My fiance, who is a producer, put together an animated slideshow for his best friend’s wedding amd it was 8 minutes. It was a huge hit and we heard about it all night long. The Maid/Matron of Honor was very upset to have to give her toast after the video! His friend’s mother was so touched she offered to pay for our rehearsal dinner.

With that being said, my fiance produces TV shows so he’s really good at making content very entertaining. He’s making a short film for our wedding that includes all of our guests – friends and family. He’s told me it’s going to be close to 20 minutes, which has me horrified, but i have to trust him – he’s really good.

I think it’s all about how entertaining it is. If your wedding is made up of family and close friends, they will love to see photos of the two of you. It helps if you includes lots of photos that are funny or awkward – people love those.

there’s no way i would pay a slide show any attention at all…but, some people will eb interested.  i don’t think 6.5 minutes is too long, esp if the guests will be eating/mingling while it plays.  don’t expect theater-like silence though, esp. if there will be alcohol at the rehearsal dinner 😉
