Been thinking about it for a while…was gonna start collecting pictures from parents on our childhood soon…
I am the type that will make the slideshow really perfect and less boring so I am willing to spend time. I am one of those enjoy watching slideshows as long as they are entertaining.
I googled around and looks like people can stand 3-5 mins max and soon find it really boring.
I was thinking to try to include as many guests (pictures with at least one of us) in the slideshow as possible and make it around 5-10 mins long at most. I was thinking to play it while everyone is eating and maybe keep looping it during dinner.
But since I want to include guest into the slideshow, should I make it a presentation?
YOU GUYS THINK IT’S GOING TO BE TOO LONG?
But I realized I might not have pictures of everyone, especially FMIL’s newly found friends whom we have never met. If I started to include all family friends from the bride side on the slideshow, will FMIL’s guests be offended? Should I just keep the photos between family and couple’s close friends?

@lamkky: I think it would be nice if it were playing in the background somewhere on a loop, so that people can look when theyre interested, but not feel like they have to watch it start to finish all the way through. Are you planning on making it with accompanying music? I think if its a one time thing, the music you pick will really set the tone, and if its not super slow, people might be more interested. That being said, I used to watch half hour long slideshows at my summer camp (photos from the summer) and even though it was a large camp and I didn’t recognize people in half the pictures I still thought it was interesting because I recognized the general locations (like your aunts might be familiar with your house) or the people (I hope everyone can pick you and your FH out in the pictures). If you or FH are in each pic, at least half of the audience should be able to recognize an element of each picture (whether its you, the location, or your mom from 20 years ago). I personally wouldn’t mind a 10 minute show. Its the only thing I remember from my uncles wedding 10 years ago (because I was in a picture and I thought that was so cool [because I was 10 and apparently famous].
ETA: Also its way more interesting if they switch back and forth between you and him. Like a pic of you when you were a baby and then a pic of him when he was a baby ect. Otherwise half of the audience won’t pay attention because its all about the person they don’t know as well for several minutes.

@asscherlover: I like your idea on switching back and forth between Fiance and me…Thanks for the helpful input. My slideshow will definitely have different music on it and I will try to make it more entertaining so people don’t need to just look at picture after picture.

Cute music and funny pictures are good. Have it no longer than ten mins though.
