We’re having a 16 month engagement. We got engaged in April ’10 and wanted a mid/late summer wedding so that’s why we chose such a long engagement. I think it was a really good choice because it allowed us to just enjoy being engaged and moving in together (we bought a condo together when we got engaged) before the madness of wedding planning started.

Ours is just about 10 months. We would get married even sooner if work didn’t get in the way!

We got engaged on May 6th 2010 and are not getting married until June 23rd 2012! So a little over 2 years for us. I think it just depends on your situation. There are so many things I want at my wedding that I wouldnt be able to have unless we saved the money and got ourselfs into a good place. Everything is booked now its just a waiting game! (untill the last few months of course). It our day and we are going to have it just the way we want it! all depends on your situation. If someone had handed me the money I would be married already!

TOO LONG! 14 months. We got engaged on 2/27/10. At the time, I thought the long engagement would help for a less stressful planning experience. If I could do it all over again, I would go for a shorter engagement (6-8 months). I’m too the point where I’m so sick of planning and just want April 30th to be TOMORROW! To me, a long engagement does not equal less stress.

22 months in total, down to 15 now though. Feels like forever but am greatful for all the extra time in terms of planning, DIY projects and just to make life that much easier for my folks who are pretty much footing the bill. This summer would have been too soon, (in the UK the summer is pretty much wedding season as our weather is so drab and horrible the rest of the year- and most of the summer actually!) but next summer is just a bit too far! Ah well, trying to keep busy with other projects!

We got engaged December 5, 2010 and will be married on July 21, 2012 so that would make it 19 months.  I wouldn’t change anything because if we got married this summer, we would have to think about the 3 weddings that we are already attending this summer and work our date around that.
