Mine will be 8 week engagement after a four year relationship. I’ve been wanting to get married for the past 2 years and Fiance knew I didn’t need a long engagement period. It’s more of a time crunch for us as I want to be married for a year before we try to conceive and we’re both getting older. I’m in my mid 30’s, he’s in his early 40’s.

Mine is a few months shy of three years. Sooooo long. But, life happens and circumstances made it so that was the best time for us, so May 2017 it was! (1 down, 2 to go!)

the obvious pro is I get my first pick of venders, venues, and lots of time to save and plan

con: I just want this sexy man to be my husband already!

We’ve been together 7.5years and will be engaged for 2years and 2months before we get married (May 2017). If it were up to me I’d wait for another year in order to save and have a bigger wedding/honeymoon budget. Most people I know are engaged for about 18months in order to get the venue/band/photographer etc they want.

Mine is 1 year, 9 months and 4 days, but who’s counting lol. I still haven’t done much, but we’re having a tiny Destination Wedding so I’m good.

9 month engagement but we didn’t wedding plan right away. From the time we picked the venue (the first thing we did) we only have 5 months until wedding. I love it for so many reasons. I am having a traditional 100 person sit down wedding. Not every detail will be coordinated perfectly, but it will be amazing. We all have busy lives go lead so having wedding be on my mind for YEARS isn’t my thing. I think stress is less with short timelines. You force decisions faster, get much better deals on vendors, and don’t have time for things like “dress regret”

Mine is about a year and a half engagement. It seemed really long at first but there is only 6 months left!

mine is a year and a half. I always said I wanted a short engagement but like PP said, life happens! It feels ok now, but I’m anxious to get married already lol. The bonus is there’s plenty of time to plan.

1 year, 1 month. We were aiming for an October wedding (hence username) but unfortunately our venue was booked up so we’re going for spring instead. Actually quite happy to have the extra 6 months to save up!

Tris5124:  about a year and 7 months. Got engaged Valentine’s Day this year, wedding is Sept 10 next year. I feel like I have the perfect amount of time to plan and still be able to have a great selection of vendors. Honestly I have most of my vendors booked already!

Ours will be 2 years. We are 1 year in and pretty much already prepared for the wedding. If I could id have it 6 months sooner!

Tris5124:  we were dating 2.5 years when we got engaged. Our engagement is 22 months long – plenty of time to figure out vendors, etc. I don’t mind the long engagement at all. I would hate to have a time crunch, so I prefer it this way.
