Our reception is just the standard 4 hours, 6pm – 10pm (we’re on the fence about adding a cocktail hour b/c our budget is almost maxed out).  I thought at first that this would be too short for me too, but then I thought about how tired I would probably be the day of (I’m sure I won’t be able to sleep the night before!) and the fact that I’ll be excited, but from a guest’s perspective 4 hours is plenty.  All the weddings I’ve been to have been have been 4 or 5 hours and by the end, I was ready to go!  You can always party it up with an after party at your hotel or a local bar.

Our cocktail hour is from 6-7 and the reception is from 7-12. The reception was originally until 11 but we decided to purchase an extra hour.
