Just the ceremony, not including seating of the guests, but beginning from Processional through Recessional, how long was your ceremony?
If you know right down to the minutes, like 34 minutes exactly, feel free to mention in the comments.
Also, were there any incidents that made your ceremony go way longer than planned?

We’re planning on the ceremony being approximately 15 minutes. My mom really wants a long ceremony and keeps trying to get us to add a unity ceremony and all sorts of extra stuff we really don’t want. Neither of us enjoy being the center of attention so we want to keep it short and simple.

Ours was about 20 min. We had a non-religious ceremony and wanted to keep it short and sweet, but still included everything we wanted. I think much longer than a half hour gets really long for guests, but it’s your day and your ceremony so you should do what you want.

20 minutes including the processional/recessional, 14 for just the ceremony. We wrote the ceremony ourselves and looking at it on paper I thought it would be way longer.

Ours is written yet, but we are aiming for between 20 and 30 minutes (including the processional and recessional) – hopefully it will be closer to 20 minutes. The thing that seems to take the longest is signing the certificate, everything else seems to go quite smoothly and quickly.

Ours was closer to 5 minutes. We’re both introverts and my husband REALLY didnt want to be the center of attention longer than nessisary Which I was fine with! That’s why we had a tiny wedding and we all ate dinner at one table together!

Our officiant estimates our ceremony will be 30 minutes, which is a bit longer than we had expected. It includes an introduction, three readings, personal vows, and then the actual “I do’s”.

Thanks y’all. I just timed everything out on my ceremony plan, and I got 20 minutes exactly. So I guess I’m on the right track.

mine was 20 and I thought it was perfect 🙂

I plan to have mine in less than 30 mins. Any more than that I wouldn’t be able to handle that haha. I would understand it’ll take an hour to get people to their seats and staff to their places… but I will not tolerate late people. If my ceremony starts at noon, the doors close!

I put twenty but it might have been less. I barely remember it at this point. I do know it took longer to get people in and out (total) than the ceremony itself lasted (we all came/went in UTVs)

Just the question I was wondering! Thanks for this. I hope mine doesn’t go over 30 min.
