My engagement will be about a year long. We got engaged this May and will get married next May. I’ve actually had someone tell me that a year is a long wait. I have a friend who is only having a few month long engagement. I don’t think there’s a “right length engagement” that works for everyone. it really just depends on you.

Mine will be 3 months! It was that or due to family reasons have a 5 or 9 month engagement, which I didn’t want to do. We’re not sleeping/living together for religious reasons, same with most of our social circle, and most of my friends engagements have been 6 months or less.

I would say 10 months is a little shorter than the average, but not odd at all. So far we have been engaged for nearly 3 years and 5 months, and will be engaged for about another two years at least.

Ours was seven months. No one really said anything nor did they give us strange looks. We had been together for almost 6 years so that might have been why no one cared how long the engagement was. We still were able to have a formal wedding with top vendors so we were pleased.

We havent even set a date / year yet. We got engaged 2 months ago. I know its not the traditional thing to do, but after 5 1/2 years together our future is planned and we are happy doing things our way. We are saving now to buy a house first, baby second, then the wedding (FI and I have always talked about having a toddler at our wedding in a little tux / dress holding the rings with the best man!) Its not for everyone, but we couldn’t be happier.
Guesstimate year is 2018. I will be 28 and Fiance 35.

6 months. Let’s get gone! In all seriousness my venue is taking care of most things for me so I can get lot of stuff done in this 6 months. We’ve been together for 5 years so I wanted to have a short engagement. The wedding is in October, and my Fiance is a Marine. In November the Corps celebrate the USMC’s birthday by throwing a ball, I also want to go ahead and be living on his side of the country for the ball. I get a few questions and strange looks, but whatevs.

5.5 months. And I get strange looks or questions about why so fast. We are early 40s and have been dating 3 years. And we are having a small, intimate wedding. He knew I wanted a short engagement when he proposed 😀

Sadly, 30 months– 2 1/2 years. We’re doing a Destination Wedding and want to get married on our anniversy so 1 1/2 years didn’t seem quite long enough so we had to go with 2 1/2. It’s SO long!!

It will be 19 months long, so just over a year and a half. We could not have everything planned in anything less as everything books up so quickly around here. We are a little more than a year away now, and I’m starting to get the “we are already booked for your date” from some vendors!

- Wedding: June 2016 - Poulsbo, WA
10.5 months for us! We debated waiting almost another year, but decided we’re ready, let’s do it! Seems pretty average for my circle, although my friends have had engagements anywhere from 2 months to 3 years.
