Ours was around 15 months. We picked a wedding date based on when we could go on honeymoon and so we just had to deal with the length.

We got a lot of things planned in the first couple of months because it helped us make sure we were saving enough. I think we had nearly everything in place 10 months before we got married, the only thing we were missing was the bridesmaid dresses which I sorted 5 months before.

I was ready to be done with planning pretty much straight away. I saw it as an additional chore to do. During our engagement I wished we picked a shorter engagement, I was getting so impatient and so fed up but it actually goes quickly. Now we’re married, I’m glad we had a longer engagement it gave us time to spread out the planning and it gave us time to focus on us and our marriage, not just the wedding.

eliii90 :ย  Mine will be the exact same length as you, 18 months! We got engaged last December and will be married July 2017 ๐Ÿ™‚ I am super happy with the length because its given me loads of time to plan (we also got first pick of all our vendors) and be excited, but if it was any longer I think I would die of anticipation! I have pretty much everything major ready now, I just can’t wait for July!

Our engagement will be 15 months. We’ve got nearly everything taken care of already except the groomsmen attire which is on Fiance to coordinate. I’m not in any rush for the day to come. Its nice to have everything out of the way and relax. Nothing left to stress over. ๐Ÿ˜€

ours was about 4 months? I love planning and we both work well to a deadline, so it was perfect for us! (obviously, it worked cause of some of the decisions we made- we wouldn’t be able to plan 4 months out in the most popular months at the most popular venues… but it worked for us!)

I love that everyone is different… and to be fair, I have been engaged before, and we broke up 18 months into what should have been a 20 month engagement so before it was even on the table, I said to my now fiance that if we ever got engaged that I would like it to be shorter than a year between engagement and the wedding (not that it was the wedding that broke us up, it was a whole lot of stuff…). I might be crazy, but I’m upfront about my quirks ๐Ÿ™‚

Our engagement will be just shy of 17 months (engaged 2 days after valentines day, getting married 7/7) And so far, planning has been a dream because we’ve had the time to really think about what would work best, and then look into how to make that the most cost effective. No rash decisions that we could regret later down the line.

Ours is just over 14 months,it’s now just over 10 to the wedding and I m glad we don’t have to rush any situations and we didn’t want a summer wedding because of the budget so October was a good compromise for us ๐Ÿ™‚

Ours will be 2 years and 5 months! 2 years of actual planning

We would have loved it to be a year closer but we just bought our first house a month ago so wouldn’t have been able to afford a big wedding next year. I prefer to have now/beginning of next year to sort the house and then next year plan the wedding properly and save for it. We are marrying in August 2018

eliii90 :  Our engagement was 14,5 months long. We got engaged in October 2013 and because I had always hoped to have a winter wedding,  we ended up picking January 2015 for our wedding. January 2014 would have been too soon, particularly as we knew that our wedding would include international travel for some of our guests.

2 days short of eleven months. It was originally a few days short of a year but we were able to move the date up but a month which we are really happy about.

13 months. I’m 3 1/2 months in and we already have a lot done. We booked our date with our venue and hired our caterer, officiant, DJ, and photographer. We ordered our save the dates and will mail those out in January. I already askedy bridesmaids and bought my dress.  I’m basically a huge planner.
