Did you read your contract?  I got married on the tenth and my contract says 4 – 5 weeks so that would be today!  I am going to give him until tomorrow and then just email for an update on the progress.  We havent received any so I would be fine with just one.  I know he took thousands so I am okay with him being longer than the contract for good pics but just want one lol

Look at your contract.  It is usually specified in the contract as to when you should receive your photos.  If that time period has lapsed then you should contact your photographer to get a status update.

Our contract said 8 to 10 weeks to get photos back, but we got our full online gallery in five, and the USB with all of our digital files in six.

stephloos23:  Our contract states, 8-12 weeks, we got married Sept. 20th, and I am still waiting.

stephloos23:  We had our online gallery of over 700 images (not yet photoshopped) nine days after our wedding.

Our contract said 8 weeks, and it ended up taking about 10. He also did our videography, which he said takes about 12 weeks to get the finished video….it’s been 17 weeks and he takes forever to respond to our inquiries. It’s maddening. If your contract doesn’t say how long, I wouldn’t hesitate to shoot them an email or quick phone call to ask.

Your photographer would be able to tell you better than us Bees.

I would email once a week or every few days until you get a response.

You’re getting negatives? Like…film? Not digital files?

stephloos23:  In that case I would continue reaching out. Have you tried calling?

I have no idea what the average is, or what our contract says. I got mine back the week after the wedding, while I was on my honeymoon (and I LOVED them). Sorry you’re still waiting Bee. :/

stephloos23:  Probably varies with the photog. I saw that an aquaintance got married mid-July and got their pics back a couple weeks ago. So, it took their photog 3 months.

stephloos23:  Negatives??? Did you really get your whole wedding on film? That’s odd. Unless your photographer is just really old and hasn’t updated the contract?

My photographer’s contract said 9 weeks but in person she said she gives herself that much time in case something goes horribly wrong in her personal life. But honestly, our wedding was the end of her busy period and looking at her instagram, it looks like she’s running about 8 weeks for other weddings anyway. We got married Oct 24 and I’m praying we get our pictures back at least a few days before Christmas because we’re planning on being totally cheap and giving people framed pictures of their families from the wedding! LOL
