I think it really depends on the couple.  Fiance waited 4 years to propose to me and the timing was perfect.  Some people proposing after a year or less is perfect for them, and some people wait 10+ years.  I don’t think there’s any right or wrong answer.

Fiance and I got engaged on our 1 year anniversary. But we started talking about it at 3 months. Fiance didn’t want any sort of judgement about it being “too early” so a year worked for us.

I think it’s a personal thing. We’d been talking about it for our entire relationship. He officially proposed right before our year and a half, and I felt like it took forever.

I’m with the PP here, it all dependent on the couple and where they are in life. My husband proposed to me on our one year, but we had a ton of history going back 6 years. Around dating for about 1-2 months we just knew we were going to get married.

My friends on the hand waited 8 years and it worked for them!

My fiance waited 4.5 years before proposing and that was what was right for him and us. I don’t think there is a set time frame, and I don’t think there should be!
